NIKHIL- INTRODUCTION
Warm greetings to our Principal Rev Br Naveen, Superior Bro Sylvanus,
Our coordinators, Teachers and dear friends.
The topic for today’s Assembly is ‘HOPE -A pillar that holds up the world
in the most difficult times.
“Hope - the essence of life” is a well-known phrase, which I’m sure
each one of us has heard at some point of time. But the practical
implication of this phrase could not have been better understood than
the present timeframe when the world is still emerging out of the
pandemic situation or COVID-19.
The end of year 2019 saw the deadly virus slowly coming into existence
and creeping into the lives of mankind. Within no time, the entire world
was under the influence of this life-threatening disease.
AMEESHI- This clearly shows that life is unpredictable, hard and quite
notorious at times. Things go out of hand and beyond our control - many
times. In times such as these hope helps us to keep the fight on and
improves the chances of making our life better.
Now, we have for you a poem composed and presented by Navya.
Navya’s poem on Hope
SAACHIPREET-The memories of lockdown are still fresh in our minds,
when the entire world had almost come to a standstill. But even in such
difficult times the doctors, medical / nursing staff, scientists, scholars and
researchers kept their eyes as well as the eyes of the entire world,
twinkling with hope.
When we’re hopeful of anything, we keep thinking that sorrow and
difficulty of today will soon end. Hope helps us to stay positive
We are now going to present a skit
SKIT
NARRATOR – VAIBHAV a 10 year old boy is nostalgic today. Let’s see why?
VAIBHAV - OH LOOK DAD I HAVE WON THE 1st PRIZE IN THE
DRAWING COMPETITION .
DAD- That's great but I have something to tell you. Your mom has been
hospitalized as she is covid positive.
(Vaibhav is shocked to hear this and without saying a word, goes to his room and
lies down on the bed)
NARRATOR - AFTER A WHILE VAIBHAV’S BEST FRIEND SAIRA COMES
INTO HIS ROOM. VAIBHAV TELLS HER THE REASON FOR HIS
SADNESS.
BF, SAIRA - I AM REALLY SORRY TO HEAR THAT, BUT EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT
VAIBHAV. JUST HOLD ON TO HOPE.
NARRATOR – Vaibhav used to visit his mom with his dad in the hospital, but to
his dismay, his mother did not show any signs of improvement
DAD, NIKHIL - Son, there are certain things which are beyond our control, but we
shouldn’t lose hope. Be strong, things will definitely get better. It might be stormy
now, but it can’t rain forever. So, Never give up hope because miracle could round
the corner. STAY POSITIVE. Your mom is a strong woman. God almighty will
surely protect her.
NARRATOR- Vaibhav heeded to his father's advice and before going to bed, he
would pray for his mother's well - being.
CHILD, VAIBHAV- Dear God,
I am holding to hope. Please tell me that your plans are better than my dreams.
Amen
NARRATOR- Vaibhav and his dad continued to visit his mom at the hospital. One
day, at the hospital the doctor informed them about his mother’s condition.
DOCTOR- Good morning sir, I am Dr. Ameeshi. I am Looking after your wife,
and I would like to tell you that there’s a lot of improvement in her condition. She
will be discharged from the hospital in a few days.
DAD, NIKHIL- Thank you so much Doctor, I am very delighted to hear the news.
NARRATOR- Vaibhav was very happy to hear the good news. After a few days
his mom came back home and Vaibhav always clung onto hope even in the most
difficult times.
VAIBHAV-Hope not only gives us the strength to overcome pain, but it
also makes the journey for the future easier. Let’s not worry about the
fact that today is bad. Hope keeps telling us that tomorrow will be better
than this. That is why hope is a true example of optimism. We present
before you a beautiful dance by Poorvi Tyagi.

It is well said, ‘Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage
of those who dare to make dreams into reality.” Here we have before
you a few real life heroes who achieved their dreams and did the

Arunima Sinha -I am Arunuma Sinha. I am the first female amputee to have
scaled the Mt Everest. Few years ago as I lay in the hospital bed, with one leg
amputated, I took a vow that many would think impossible. My goal, from that
day onwards, was not just to become adept at walking with a prosthetic leg but
scale the highest point in the world--Mount Everest.
It was a feat--which many would consider impossible. But that not only brought
back my self confidence but made me an inspiration for everyone.
ASHUTOSH- I am Major D P Singh. I have earned the epithet of being
‘India’s blade Runner’. I am the first Indian to run a marathon with the
blade. My journey was never a bed of roses. During Operation Vijay, I
was heavily injured and was brought back to life after my right leg was
amputated. But I clung on to hope and today I hold the LIMCA record for
running 12 marathons with my prosthetic leg.
ARSHBIR-Thought for the Day
‘ALWAYS HOLD ON TO HOPE WITH A CONVICTION THAT THERE
IS A BETTER LIFE, A BETTER WORLD BEYOND THE HORIZON.’

Our mind has a lot of effect on our actions. If our mind tells us to stay
strong on a path and not lose courage, we will surely do so. So, hope
gives us a positive mind power. It generates an aura around us which
protects us from the negatives. This is why; hope will always be the
essence of life. THANK YOU.
