Way of the Sumo
Sumo Warrior
Monks who follow the Way of the Sumo dedicate StarSoulArt
themselves to a unique and ancient tradition that
emphasizes strength, resilience, and unyielding
endurance. These monks, often larger in stature,
transform their size into an advantage through rigorous
training and perfect technique. Their practices are
centered around a sacred dohyō, a circular ring where
they hone their skills. Here, they learn to harness their
physical power to overwhelm foes, using specialized
grapples and powerful manuevers.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain
proficiency in the Athletics and Intimidation skills if you
don’t already have it. Additionally, you can use your
Constitution modifier for any ability checks you make
with these skills instead of the usual ability modifier.
Unyielding Might
Also at 3rd level, your constant training at the sacred
dohyo has taught you the masterful tactics of sumo. You
gain the following benefits:
You can use your Constitution modifier for the attack
and damage rolls of your unarmed strikes and monk
weapons.
Your Unarmored Defense can be calculated as 10 +
your Constitution modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
You can calculate the damage reduction of the
Deflect Missiles feature as 1d10 + your Constitution
modifier + your monk level.
You can attempt to grapple a creature as a bonus
action if you’ve hit it with an unarmed strike or a
monk weapon on your turn.

Iron Grip
Sumo Figter Starting at 6th level, your powerful hold on your
Dawei Lu opponents leaves them vulnerable and exhausts their
attempts to escape your grasp. You gain the following
benefits:
Melee attacks against any creature grappled by you
are made with advantage.
Any creature you are currently grappling has
disadvantage on attack rolls against you.
Whenever a creature attempts to escape your
grapple and fails, you regain 1 ki point.
You can attempt to grapple creatures of Huge size or
smaller.
Rolling Avalanche
Beginning at 11th level, your mastery of sumo
techniques allows you to turn your entire body into a
devastating force. By spending 2 ki points, you can
replace one of your attacks with a powerful rolling
maneuver. When you do so, you travel in a 30-foot long,
5-foot wide line. Any creature in this line must succeed
on a Dexterity saving throw or take bludgeoning
damage equal to four rolls of your Martial Arts die. On a
successful save, the creature takes half as much
damage. Any creature that fails the saving throw is also
knocked prone. If you are currently grappling a
creature, that creature takes the damage as well and
makes the saving throw with disadvantage. The
grappled creature moves with you during the roll and
remains grappled at the end of it. You appear standing
at the end of the line.
Immovable Mountain
At 17th level, your mastery of sumo techniques has
transformed you into an immovable mountain of
resilience and strength. You gain the following benefits:
You cannot be knocked prone or moved against your
will.
While grappling a creature, your AC is increased by
half your proficiency bonus (rounded down).
You can attempt to grapple creatures of Gargantuan
size or smaller.
If a creature attempts to escape your grapple and
fails, it becomes restrained until the grapple ends.
