1. Academic Achievements

Year Event Overview/Achievement

2022 Opportunity X Science Fair Achievement: Second Place (International)

This event took place during our June holidays in

the early morning. We had to wake up early for
this and work hard to prepare the relevant
materials. Due to our hard work, we managed to
clinch second place.

2022 International Research Achievement: Second Place (International)

Project Olympiad
This event took place around the end of year after
our end of year examinations. Due to our stress
being relieved with the ending of examination
season, we were able to exert more time and
effort into our project. Thus, we managed to get a
second overall.

2022 International Science and Achievement: Gold Medal (International)

Invention Fair
This event also took place at the end of the year.
Similar to the above event, we worked hard and
continued to push on through every hurdle faced.
In the end, we managed to get the gold medal for
our category; “Physics, Energy and Engineering.”

2. Non-academic Achievement
● Being in the SST (School of Science and Technology, Singapore) guitar ensemble as
well as a member of the contrabass section, I was exposed to a number of annual
different events which I had taken part in. The events are as follows:

Year Event Overview/Achievement

2022 Vienna Virtuoso Festival Achievement: Second Place (International)

Having just been promoted to the senior

ensemble as 2022 began, we had to immediately
learn a new and daunting piece. I was definitely
worried and anxious as I had just been shifted to a
section which I had no prior experience in. Thus, it
was as if I was learning the instrument all over
again. However, due to my persistence and
resilience, I managed to overcome adversities and
push through. This led to me helping the
ensemble achieve second place!

2023 Singapore Youth Festival Achievement: Certificate of Distinction (National)

The Singapore Youth Festival, SYF, is an annual

event which takes place to allow members of the
performing arts to showcase their talents. Apart
from SYF being amidst our class test period, we
often had to come back during our holidays to
practice. This was certainly very draining and
tiring. However, as an ensemble, we supported
and cared for each other. Due to our shared
commitment and joy, we managed to get the
highest attainable achievement, the certificate of
distinction.

2024 Istana Open House Role: Performer at the Open House

Due to our amazing SYF performance which left

many in awe, we were requested to perform at the
Istana Open house which is a very rare
opportunity to obtain. We played many different
genres of songs and had a blast performing them!

4. Services
In SST, there are numerous ways where one can grow into a dynamic leader in service of
humanity! One of the ways is to take part in the many offered service project opportunities!
I have participated in a number of them and they are as follows:

Year Project

2022 Learning Alliance Beyond Borders

This programme allowed us to work with a partner school from another country
to raise awareness on a certain topic. For our year, we got to work with the
students over at the Lawrence S. Ting school in Vietnam and we had to raise
awareness on global warming. This programme taught me the importance of
cross cultural understanding. While being separated through a vast distance, we
still were able to communicate effectively and adopt a more understanding
nature towards the other party as we are in different cultures.

2023 Threads2Give

The service project, "Threads2Give", is a school initiated project I helped oversee.

As I was the Secondary 3 Active Citizenship Education (ACE) leader for my class, I,
along with other friends, was responsible for organizing a service-learning
project. Our entire class decided to do one based on clothing waste. Attached on
the right is the pile of clothes that had been collected by our entire school. After
which, we held a drive where students across the entire school can come down
to thrift for them and it doesn't cost a single cent! Thrifty threads which you don’t
have to waste a single cent!

2024 Volunteer at Willing Hearts

Around the March holidays, our class yet again embarked on our service learning
project. This time we decided to volunteer at a soup kitchen called "Willing
Hearts". This kitchen helps by providing food for the less fortunate. This
organization also seeks the help from volunteers to volunteer at the kitchen.
There, we did many tasks ranging from peeling garlic, carrying heavy loads to
even cutting bread! This project taught me to be more grateful of what I have
around me.

5. Talents
Although I believe in academic pursuit, it is important to maintain a balanced lifestyle by
incorporating the essences of hobbies! Here are some of my hobbies/talents!

Hobbies Aspect Summary

Music Aesthetics When I was primary 3, I took a liking to musical

instruments as I was exposed to the musical
instrument, the drums. As at that point in time my
house was lacking space for a drum kit, I was unable
to practice. However, I did not let this stop me from
my passion. I often found pots and pans around the
house to play with and sometimes even did virtual
drumming through an app! Coming to secondary
school, we had to choose a CCA to attend for 4
years. Being musically inclined, I naturally chose the
CCA Guitar ensemble. In the guitar ensemble, I am a
member of the contrabass section as well as the
percussionist of the CCA due to my prior knowledge
of drumming. Ever since then, I started to pick up
instruments which I will teach myself through
tutorials found online. Uptill now, I can play multiple
instruments such as the Drums, Guitar, Keyboard
and even the Harmonica!

Baking Culinary Arts Since young, my mother has always had an eye for
baking. I would always find ways to help her in the
kitchen albeit how small the help may be. However,
as we grew older, this past time which was once
shared happily between my family dwindled away in
time as we all had multiple other commitments to
attend to. However, I was determined to keep this
hobby within my family going and I took the
initiative to bake with my siblings when my parents
weren’t around. Till now, whenever me and my
siblings have free time, we will start taking out the
mixing stand and whip up a delectable treat for our
family to share!

Photography Aesthetics I find photography the perfect meaning of

“capturing the moment”. As my father was also an
avid photographer in his early days, it is no surprise
to find a lot of albums with photos lying around my
7

house. As my father grew up, he started to spend

less time with his camera and it began collecting
dust elsewhere. He decided to let me try it one day
and that was when I found my love for seizing the
moment and capturing it to remember it. Whenever
my family goes on holidays, I always try to take
pictures wherever we go so that in the future, once
we are all grown up, we can look back at these
photos and reminisce about the past.
