Filipino teachers often use various strategies to manage cultural and social challenges, such as seeking community support from fellow Filipinos, participating in cultural exchange activities, and gradually adapting to the diverse social norms in the US. Effective communication and open-mindedness play crucial roles in overcoming instances of cultural misunderstanding and discrimination .

The informed consent process ensures participants are fully aware of the study's purpose, procedures, potential risks, and benefits. It guarantees their right to withdraw at any time without penalty and ensures information shared is confidential. This process respects the participants' autonomy and protects them from any form of coercion or harm, thus maintaining ethical integrity in research .

Maintaining confidentiality and anonymity involves careful handling of participants' data, ensuring it is not linked to their identity in publications or reports. This practice minimizes risks of personal and professional harm, respects privacy, and fosters trust between the researcher and participants, all of which are crucial for ethical compliance and the validity of qualitative research findings .

Beyond professional challenges, Filipino teachers might confront socio-economic issues such as the high cost of living, difficulty in accessing affordable housing, and navigating financial systems unfamiliar to them. These challenges can strain their adaptation process, affecting both personal and professional stability as they strive to establish a secure life in the US context .

The professional experiences of Filipino teachers in the US can lead to significant growth in teaching methodologies, exposure to diverse educational settings, and enhanced cross-cultural skills. These experiences likely influence their future aspirations by opening opportunities for career advancement in international contexts or returning to the Philippines with new perspectives and skills to improve educational practices there .

Filipino teachers often migrate to the US seeking better financial compensation, improved professional opportunities, and a perceived higher standard of living. These motivations are deeply rooted in the economic and professional gaps between the US and the Philippines. Cultural misunderstandings can affect communication with students, colleagues, and parents, potentially impeding teaching effectiveness.
