JESUS: THE FOUNTAIN OF FULNESS, FREEDOM AND FITNESS
John 7:37-39; 8:32,36; 9:10-11
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If
any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as
the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But
this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for
the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”
(John 7:37-39). The Holy Spirit is here in His fulness because Jesus Christ has been
glorified and He will move in an unprecedented manner in your life. “And ye shall
know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If the Son therefore shall
make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:32,36). Your freedom is
established by Christ who sets everyone free as He breaks every yoke. “Therefore
said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? He answered and said, A man
that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go
to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
(John 9:10-11). Jesus, the Saviour, Redeemer and the One who brings us out of
darkness into His marvellous light brings freedom, fulness and fitness to you. The
blind man did what Christ asked him to do and he received sight. You should do all
that Christ asks you to do no matter how small or insignificant they may sound or
look to you.
7. THE LIVING FOUNTAIN OF THE SPIRIT FOR THE THIRSTY
John 7:37-39; Isaiah 44:3; Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:16-18,33,38-39
God has not made any exceptions in pouring out His Spirit. Everyone can have the
transformation and truth of the Spirit because He is good to all and He wants to fill
everyone with the spirit of peace, purity, power and progress. “ In the last day, that
great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him
come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said,
out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit,
which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet
given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)” (John 7:37-39). The moment
you are born into the world, you become thirsty. Newborn babies cry for satisfaction,
toddlers are passionate and desirous of toys and thirsty, children desire to walk and
when they fall, they rise again because they want to walk. As children grow older, they
have the drive to learn, go to school and do many other things. The only challenge we
have is that we are not as morally sound as we would love to be, so we thirst for a
great life. When we are sick, we are thirsty for health and we can go to all lengths to
get well. As Christians, we must be thirsty for the satisfaction that comes from the
Spirit. We also thirst for the power of God in our lives. Our thirst begins with the
salvation of the Lord, we are thirsty for the new life and the saving grace that He has
brought. The power of salvation comes from believing in the name of the Lord. As we

progress in our Christian journey, we realize that sometimes, we do not have power
over the spirits as was the case with the disciples when they could not drive out
unclean spirits from a child, we then thirst for that power and God gives that to us.
As the disciples went on with the Lord, they started looking for power to be over others
but Jesus prayed and changed their thirst to seek the power of sanctification and
purity. As Jesus was about to leave the earth, they were sorrowful and fearful of the
powers that be in Jerusalem, and they were thirsty for the power of the Holy Ghost.
They needed the fulness of the Spirit. Jesus had said to them to “tarry in Jerusalem
until [they] be endued with the Holy Ghost”. As they tarried and prayed, they
received the Holy Ghost's power to declare the word of God with all boldness, and on
the day of Pentecost, Peter preached and said things he couldn’t have said in his own
power, and 3,000 souls were saved. They received the fulness of God’s Holy Spirit.
“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground:
I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.”
(Isaiah 44:3). God looks for those who are thirsty and He wants to pour water on
them. Water represents something refreshing and revitalizing that brings freshness.
The water brings blessings so much that everything that brings dryness is taken away.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of
the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all
that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:38). When
people saw the freedom and liberty in the Apostles, they wanted what they had, and
asked, “what shall we do to be saved?” Peter told them to repent, be baptized and
receive the gift of the Spirit. As you respond to the call of the Lord, peace will flood
your heart, purity will saturate your being and power will envelop you.
8. THE LIBERATING FREEDOM-GIVER FORGIVING AND FREEING THE
SINFUL FROM ALL TRANSGRESSIONS
John 8:11-12,30-32,36; Romans 6:18,22; Galatians 5:1,19-25
“Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again
into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught
them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in
adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master,
this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law
commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they
said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped
down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them,
He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again
he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being
convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest,

even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the
midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said
unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned
thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn
thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the
light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall
have the light of life. (John 8:1-12). This story is very important, instructive and
inspiring. The woman was caught in a bad and sinful condition. The Pharisees who
were sinners themselves were not bothered about their own sins, but God will catch
the catcher. When you have guilt and condemnation, don’t stay with the Pharisees,
Sadducees and the ‘holier than thou’ people. The best place anyone can bring you to
when you are condemned is the presence of Jesus. The Pharisees became evangelists
as they brought her to Jesus. They were expecting the end to come to the woman
because Jesus is holy. When you come to the Saviour, your end does not come, but
rather the beginning of a new life. Jesus caught them in their own sins by bringing
conviction into their hearts. Jesus will never agree with the people who want you dead
because of your sins. Jesus is our freedom giver and He forgives all our sins and sets
us free. The woman would have made a great mistake if she followed the Pharisees as
they left but she was wise to stay in the presence of Jesus and He said to her that He
did not condemn her. Jesus the Righteous was qualified to take the stone and kill her,
but He did not condemn her. Jesus will not condemn you; He won’t stone you or
condemn you to hell as you believe in His name and repent of your sins. He did not
come to the world to condemn us but to save us. As we thirst for a better life, He gives
us a better and forgiven life. Nobody ever said “go, and sin no more” to anyone. The
Old Testament priests would require people to come back yearly for atonement of sins
but Jesus came to give us permanent freedom by giving us the strength and desire to
live the new life. He cancels our condemnation and death sentence. Heaven, through
Christ, has given you forgiveness. Speaking to the woman, He speaks to everyone else
and tells us that as we receive the light of the world, we will not walk in the darkness
of iniquity anymore because we have the light of life. “As he spake these words,
many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If
ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.” (John 8:30,31). We
must continue in the word of God. The woman heard the assurance of confidence and
she must continue in that assurance regardless of her doubts as she sees people who
knew about her past life. You must continue in the word spoken to us, and have the
assurance that we can live righteous lives one day at a time. “And ye shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32). Any truth you hear about
Jesus makes you free and free indeed.

9. THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, GIVING SIGHT AND INSIGHT THROUGH
TRANSFORMING TRUTH
John 9:4-5,7-11,18-22,24-38
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh,
when no man can work.” (John 9:4). The question is, what’s the work of Him that
sent Christ? The answer is seeking and saving those who were lost. Your salvation for
him is a must as He says, “come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.” Some people think if they cry, shout or roll on the ground,
they will have salvation. The truth is that Christ must save those who come unto Him
for salvation. The work of salvation is His to do. Another work He must do is the work
of healing. He is going to heal your sicknesses and open your blind eyes. He also came
to destroy the works of the devil. All the works of the devil in your life causing
depression and discomfort will be destroyed. “And said unto him, Go, wash in the
pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore,
and washed, and came seeing. The neighbours therefore, and they which before
had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? Some
said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. Therefore
said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? He answered and said, A man
that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go
to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
(John 9:7-11). Here, was a man who was born blind and the disciples wondered if it
was the man’s or his parents’ sins that caused the blindness. Jesus said it was for
the glory of God. As the blind man came to Jesus, Jesus made clay on his eyes and
told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam to test his obedience. The man did not argue
because he trusted that Jesus knew what He would do to him. We must trust the Lord
implicitly to receive His miracles. He will do wonders in your life.
