Module 4

Decoding the Elite

Woman's Style
Copyright © School of Affluence

Ladies, welcome to Week 4, where we're finally going to decode the elite
woman's style...this might be one of your favorite modules! I want to teach you
the fundamentals of how to style yourself with elegance and femininity. We're
also going to do a closet cleanse and curate our priority list of what to invest in.
This module is focused on action, as you now need to get to know your
wardrobe inside and out. See it as a new relationship taking place!

Anna Bey
Your Mentor

01
We will start this module by going back to the basics (the most
important basics to focus on!) Color theory and dressing for your body
shape will be by far the most important tools for your wardrobe!

02
I will give you the ultimate list of how I would personally prioritize my
wardrobe (regardless of budget). You will get to know the best strategy
when it comes to prioritizing!

03
After all that theory, it's now time to take action in your wardrobe!
You're going to do a closet cleanse, and I will instruct you exactly how
to go about it! You will feel amazing afterward! (It's very therapeutic.)

04
Go behind the scenes with me on my wardrobe strategy! We're going to
do a case study on how I curate my looks, what brands I use, and my
overall thinking when it comes to my own wardrobe.

01
We will begin this module by going over the basic formula to an elegant style. When you
perfect the basics, you have the foundation you need to curate a smart wardrobe -- and there
is no need to complicate things at this stage! What you have to focus on primarily is how to
dress according to your colors, body shape, and style personality. With these three areas
covered off in your arsenal, you won't be needing much more!

3

Based on what was taught in Module 4 "Revealing the Secret Formula to Elegant Style", write
down what you have found out about yourself.

What's your dominant color?

What colors should you be wearing? (based on your impression of the color palette you downloaded)

What's your body shape?

4

Add pictures of outfits that have your colors

5

Who are some celebrities with your body shape that you can take inspiration from?

Write down your list of do's in dressing for your body shape (as explained in the video)

Write down your list of don'ts in dressing for your body shape (as explained in the video)

6

Add pictures of favorite looks that celebrities who carry your body shape have worn.

7

What style personality do you currently have?

Do you want to keep your style personality or do you want to change it?
What kind of style personality would you like to have?

What kind of style personality would best serve your goals, your character and your energy?
Remember that we can use the style personality as a tool to balance out dominant energy in us.

It's okay to have a hybrid of style personalities. Equally, you can also settle for just one.
Decide upon your "style personality plan". Which one/ones have you chosen to go for, and why?
(if applicable: for what occasions/states of mind could each style personality be used?)

8

Write down some key pieces; some ideas for what kind of items you can acquire or style with
to create your style personality.

Add pictures of outfits that have your style personality.

02
There are a myriad of things that we need to buy! But how should we prioritize? There is a
clever prioritization strategy that I want to teach you based on the principle of "cost per use."
We will also learn about the key pieces in our wardrobe that do a lot for our elegance and
overall look. After this module, you will know in exactly what direction to go forward...and
what potholes to avoid!

Welcome to my favorite part! This is not only the most productive part of this module, but it
will also be the most therapeutic part (letting go of things that are no longer serving you is a
blessing!) You won't be able to create a wardrobe strategy for yourself unless you get to know
your own wardrobe, find the gaps and see what your best pieces are.

STEP 1

Take out each garment, one by one, inspect it and try it on

Think about your first thoughts and reaction to this garment
Go through the Item Checklist and check the boxes for the garment (a mental check is fine.)

If you have at least one "No" then the item qualifies as a "No-item"
Items with the majority of "Yesses" or have many "Yesses" qualify as "Wow-items"
Items with a few "Yesses" and a few "Maybes" qualify as "Yes-items"
Items that qualify as a "Yes" item but require repair work or a companion go into your "Fix-
it" pile

Optional: Take a picture of your "Yes-pile" "No-pile" & "Fix-it-pile" and show us in the
private Student Community (we all need inspiration!)

STEP 2

Do a full combination check. Take multiple days for this if necessary. Don't rush with this!
Wear a thong matching your skin color and a minimal bra (preferably a strapless bra
matching your skin color) or a good supportive bra if you have a big bust.
Wear each garment with all possible garment companions in your closet.

Example: You're testing a pair of trousers. Try this trouser with all the tops, shirts, vests,
blazers, jackets, upper-wear, etc. that you have in your closet.
Example: You're testing a dress. Try this dress with all the shoes, accessories, blazers,
jackets, coats, throws, cardigans, etc. that you have in your closet.

Ask yourself: Does this make me look my best? Does it make me feel my best? Is this a
wow combination or is it only so-so?
Don't forget to add coats, jackets, blazers, accessories, shoes, bags, hats, scarves, etc. to
your combination check.
Don't be afraid of mixing and matching colors and prints you're hesitant about. The
purpose is to try everything as you might discover combinations you never thought of
before!
If you need a pair of second eyes, (especially on looks you're unsure of), get a friend or
multiple friends/people you trust to help you.
Take a picture of all your "Yes-looks" and "Wow-looks" and organise them in files
(preferably on your smartphone so they're easy to access).

Optional: Do the same process for your "maybe-looks". It might be useful if you need a
second opinion on this look or you want to gather ideas for the future.
Optional: If you need help evaluating an outfit, upload your picture in the private Student
Community, where the other students can help you with feedback.

STEP 3

You've now spent some time with your wardrobe; getting to know it properly, by cleaning
it out and applying a combination check.

During this process, you have probably been able to get some aha-moments and done
some interesting analysis of what you actually own and don't own.

Write down what the gaps are in your closet. What companions do your existing clothes
need to diversify your wardrobe? Fill in the inventory list for more clarity.

Did you notice if you are repeat buying certain garments?

Do these garments serve your current lifestyle? In particular, your everyday lifestyle
where you spend the majority of your time?

Meanwhile, gather more inspiration for looks & ideas of what you need by browsing
Instagram & Pinterest for beautiful fashion outfits. Save those images in albums and
organize them depending on the type of outfit/garment or type/occasion.

Now it's time to gather all your thoughts, analysis, and aha-moments to write your wish-
list. Take into account the strategy I gave you (how to prioritize), combine it with your
wardrobe audit, and discover the missing pieces.

Now it's time to start hunting for the pieces on your wish-list. Below is a sample of online
stores I can recommend (for premium / mid-range / pre-loved)

YES MAYBE NO

I love this garment!

It suits my personal brand & the image I want to portray

The color suits me

It fits my body shape / has a good fit

It's aligned with my style personality

When I wear it I feel confident & beautiful

I've worn this item within the past two years

It fits with my current lifestyle

It's in good condition, undamaged & not worn out

It has sentimental value & can qualify as a vintage piece

It doesn't look outdated

Anna would be proud if she saw me wear this ;)

What are the gaps in your wardrobe?

What companions do your existing clothes need to diversify your wardrobe?

Did you notice if you were "repeat-buying" any garments? If yes, what are they? (Stop buying them
from now on!)

Do you have enough clothes to cater to your current lifestyle? (Meaning: Do you have enough clothes
for the majority of the activities that you do every day?) If not, what should you purchase next?

2 6

Who are your style role models or people who inspire you? Write their names, or add pictures of
some of their outfits. You can also add some random looks you've found online & use this space
as a mood board for some of your future looks.

2 7

The final step is to curate a Wish-List for your future purchases. Write them in order of priority
(the most urgent will be first).

2 8

Use this list to understand how many you have of each (put a number next to each
item). This will help bring you clarity in discovering your wardrobe gaps.
