The policy complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI), ensuring personal data is used for necessary insurance services and legislative compliance. Data is shared with affiliates, subsidiaries or reinsurers, and third-party service providers for legitimate business interests like statistical analysis and credit control, always under strict adherence to applicable laws .

Mechanical breakdown refers to the sudden cessation of a component's function due to failure, requiring repair or replacement, and is covered under the policy . Wear and tear, conversely, involves the natural degradation over time, which is included as a failure if it is a major mechanical component specified under "Components covered table" .

Maximum limits covered are defined as the higher of individual component and benefit limits as outlined in the policy. These limits govern the maximum payout for components or benefits. Should multiple failures occur, they are capped at the higher limit, ensuring coverage does not exceed the vehicle’s purchase price. Insured parties bear costs beyond these limits .

When multiple component failures occur simultaneously, they are treated as a single claim. The amount authorized for such a claim is limited to the higher benefit limit of the failed components, and any additional costs incurred will be covered by the insured .

Policyholders can resolve grievances by contacting M-Sure Complaints or the Centriq complaints department via provided emails. If unsatisfied, the option to contact the Ombudsman for Short-term Insurance for further recourse is available .

Upon claim denial, the insured has 120 days from the claim submission to provide additional required documentation. For denied claims, 90 days are given post-receipt of the repudiation letter to contest the decision. If not resolved, legal action can be pursued within 6 months after the initial 90 days, failing which the claim is forfeited .

A 'new vehicle' is under one year old with less than 15,000 km traveled, whereas 'used vehicles' exceed one year and have traveled over 15,000 km. This classification determines policy activation timing, as new vehicle policies commence post-original warranty expiration, whereas for used vehicles, it starts upon purchase or post-warranty expiry .

Cancelling a MotorHappy Step Up Warranty policy involves certain conditions and steps as specified in the terms. The policyholder can cancel the policy at any time by notifying the insurer. For cancellations within 14 days after receipt of the policy document, the insured event should not have occurred. For further action, the policyholder should contact the insurer via the provided contact details .

In case of emergencies requiring immediate attention after hours, on weekends, or public holidays, minor emergency repairs can be conducted to prevent further loss or damage and regain vehicle mobility. These need immediate reporting to the insurer for claims processing .

The policy addresses conflict of interest by adhering to the provisions of the 'FAIS' Act and Policyholder Protection Rules. It supports a values-based approach focused on legislative spirit. The policy is reviewed annually and reported to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, with a management policy available upon request to clients .
