I started with an action plan to guide me through the researching and prototyping part and prioritise

the stages of my inquiry. Then I found a client, which was a friend’s brother, and gained basic
knowledge of his current situation. I created many questions to interview him to gain further
knowledge of his medication problems and how he would like to improve his current medicine.

I then began to research personalised medicine and how it could be designed using CAD software. I
used both primary and secondary researching methods, as you can see, such as Cornell notes,
product analysation, etc.

After acquiring adequate knowledge, I created a design brief. This was to outline the basic principles
surrounding the designing of a personalised tablet for the client. A more detailed design specification
was created based on the design brief.

Then I began sketching possible designs. I interviewed the client several times to receive feedback on
these designs, resulting in a final prototype. However, the size of the pill had to be determined. This
was investigated using my research and Ultimaker Cura, which was used to measure the estimated
weight of the prototype. I found that the weight should be around 5 grams. This was then
implemented into the final design, which was sketched out with detail on paper.

Next, I constructed another logical plan for creating the solution. First, the prototype was created
using TinkerCAD, and then 3D printed out. After further interviews, some aspects of the pill were
changed, and 3D printed again to better align to the client’s wants.

I identified the changes I made to the prototype during this phrase and justified why I made these
decisions.

Finally, I created possible testing methods of the pill’s features and evaluated its success, based on
both client feedback and research. I also reflected on my inquiry and explained how the original
solution was improved, and what the impact of this was.
