might be present in your salon/workplace. Identify and give the possible

1. Colorist Chemical Hazard - A colorist
Chemical exposure accidentally spills
from hair dyes and hair dye on their
bleach. skin, leading to
chemical burns or
allergic reactions.
Without proper
safety measures like
wearing gloves or
protective clothing,
they are at risk of
skin irritation or
more severe
injuries.
2. Massages Ergonomic Hazard - A massage therapist
Improper posture or repeatedly uses
technique leading to improper techniques,
muscle strain or leading to chronic
injury. back pain or carpal
tunnel syndrome.
Over time, without
ergonomic training
or adjustments to
their technique,
they face the risk
of debilitating
injuries that can
affect their ability
to work.
3. Nail Treatments Physical Hazard - A nail technician
Sharp tools like accidentally nicks a
scissors, nail client's skin with a
clippers, or cuticle sharp nail tool,
pushers. causing bleeding and
potential infection.
Without proper
training in handling
tools or maintaining
a sterile
environment, clients
are at risk of
injury and
infection.
4. Desk Physical Hazard - A salon receptionist
Clutter or trips over tangled
electrical cords electrical cords

hazards. resulting in a fall
and wrist fracture.

workspace organized
and free of hazards,
staff members are at
risk of workplace
injuries.
5. Beauty Beds Biological Hazard - Improper cleaning

increasing the risk
of skin infections.

clients are at risk

6. Makeup Equipment Biological Hazard - A client experiences

clients are at risk
