Personal protective equipment : Implement that allows the worker to act in direct contact with a
hostile substance or environment, without deterioration to his physical integrity .
Compactor plate: Machine that compacts the soil in order to make the surface smooth, by
transmitting vibrations through the vibrating plate, by the energy generated from a single motor. This
machine is suitable for smoothing the ground surface, as well as ground leveling and asphalt paving.
Compactor plate
Security shoes.
Safety helmet.
Safety gloves.
Safety glasses.
Auditory protector.
Before starting any work, all workers must receive training, both theoretical and practical, on how
to carry out their work with strict safety.
The plate compactor operator is responsible for the operation of the equipment as well as its basic
maintenance.
Exposure to noise.
In the tasks.
In the workplace.
In fuel supply.
DO NOT fuel the engine near sparks or flames, as vapors could ignite.
DO NOT spill fuel when refueling the engine.
ALWAYS fill fuel tank in a well-ventilated area.
ALWAYS resecure the fuel tank cap after refilling the tank.
ALWAYS check fuel lines and tank for leaks and cracks before starting engine. Do not operate
the machine if fuel is leaking or fuel lines are loose.
MAKE SURE that gasoline is only stored in an approved storage container.
DO NOT overfill the fuel tank.
In maintenance.
In operation.
ALWAYS guide the plate in such a way that the operator will not be crushed between the
rammer and solid objects.
Take special care when working on uneven ground or when compacting thick material. Be sure
to stand firmly when operating the machine under these conditions.
MAKE SURE that the trench walls are stable and will not collapse due to vibration before
beginning compaction.

MAKE SURE that the area to be compacted does not contain electrical or communications
cables, or gas or water pipes, which could be damaged by the action of vibration.
BE CAREFUL when operating the unit. Exposure to vibrations or repetitive work actions can be
harmful to your hands and arms.
The vibro compactor plates are heavy units and should be carried by two people with
appropriate strength, using the lifting handles provided on the machine, along with correct
lifting techniques, one or two helpers are required to lift it, remember the weight maximum to
be lifted according to occupational industrial safety standards.
Before starting.
1) Make sure that dirt, dust, mud etc. be completely removed from the unit before operation.
2) Check all bolts and screws to ensure they are tight, loosening may occur due to vibration, loose
bolts and screws may cause damage to the unit.
3) Check the engine oil level, if the engine oil level is low, it should be refilled. Use the correct engine
oil as suggested in the engine manual, which should be attached to the machine and this manual.
5) Regular gasoline must be used for the gasoline engine. As fuels (diesel and gasoline) usually
capture water from the environment, you must ensure that the fuel container from which you tank has
been sitting for several hours in order for the water to settle when filling the fuel tank. , be sure to do it
very slowly and not empty all the fuel from the container (it is possible that there is water at the
bottom), it is also necessary to use a filter or sieve to prevent sand or stones from entering the fuel.
1) Check the V-belt for tightness. Normal slack should be approximately 10-15mm (1/2") when the
belts are forcibly depressed in the middle position between the two pulleys. If the belt is too tight, there
could be decreased impact force or erratic vibration, causing damage to the machine.
2) Be sure to position the machine horizontally on the ground before starting to compact.

Engine start.
1) Move the throttle lever to the home position (open about 1/3 of the way).
4) Pull the starter handle fully and slowly to check the rope length, return the rope to its original
position.
5) Then operate the decompression switch again and slowly pull the starter rope again until you feel
resistance. This is the “high compression” point, without releasing and then pull more and quickly
keeping in mind that do not pull the entire rope, you could burst it.
If the engine does not start, repeat this last step, or verify that you have not skipped any previous
steps and after starting the engine, allow the starter handle to return to its original position, keeping it
held.
CAUTION Do not pull the rope to the end and do not remove your hand from the handle, but slowly
return it to the original position.
6) Before starting compaction. Be sure to warm up the engine for 2 to 3 minutes always.
1) As the engine warms up, gradually move the choke lever to the OPEN position.
2) Move the control lever from LOW to HIGH position (Full throttle engine to 3600RPM). The reason
for this is that when the engine speed reaches approximately 2,300-2,600 RPM, the centrifugal clutch
starts. If you increase the engine speed too slowly, the clutch may slip and the pastes may burn. Do
not operate the throttle slowly.
3) For asphalt compaction, it is advisable to paint the underside of the compaction plate with diesel
fuel. This will help in preventing the board from sticking to the asphalt.
4) When turning off the vibrator, turn the speed control lever from HIGH to LOW position. Do not move
the speed control lever slowly.

To stop.
Note: To stop the engine in an emergency, change the ignition button to the OFF position. If it does
not work, you can cut the high wire of the spark plug or close the air inlet of the diesel engine with a
cloth or tow.
1) Set the speed control lever to the low position and allow the engine to run at low speed for 2 to 3
minutes before stopping.
Transport.
2) For transportation, tighten the fuel tank cap and close the fuel cock to prevent spillage.
5) The machine should be transported in a position as if it were placed on flat ground. If you must lie
down for transportation, empty the fuel tank and make sure the oil cap is securely tightened.
6) To lay the equipment down, it must be done so that the air filter is on top. Next, make sure there are
no residual oil or fuel leaks.
7) Make sure that the lifting device has the capacity to support the machine (see machine nameplate
for weight). Use the center lift point to lift the machine.
