UNIT 1 : FEELINGS

LESSON OBJECTIVES:
 Students learn about “Feelings” : happy, sad, sleepy, angry, sick, hot, cold, scared
 Are you___? – Yes, I am / No, I am not.

- T play the video “Hello, how are you?” and get S to sing along. (attached
VIDEO)
Warm up
- T divide the class into 2 groups, 1 group sings the question part “ How are

you?”, the other sings and act the answer part “ I’m fine/ great……”.
- Then they change the role.

- T introduce the new lesson : “Today, we will learn about : Feelings ”

- T show the flashcards, ask S listen and repeat :


- Happy / Sad / Sleepy / Angry / Sick / Hot / Cold / Scared
Vocabulary
(30 mins)
- Ask S to write down the new vocabularies in their notebook. T go around
and check.

- T (use the flashcards) stick pictures on the

pronunciation.

- Play the recording for S to listen.
Listen and - T translate and explain if necessary.
practice - Ask S read along. Then put S into some groups and practice the dialogue.
(10 mins) - Ask some S stand up to play the roles in the dialogue. T check the
pronunciation and intonation.

 S can say the letter names and sounds of “a -> l ”

(15 mins) - T divide the class into 2 teams and give S the letter.

Practice it ! S write their partner’s names in the “Friend 1” and “Friend 2” and then
(30 mins) practice.
- T place all flashcards on the floor.
- Tell S to have a look at all flashcards. After that,
GAME : get S to close their eyes, and try to hide one
“WHAT IS MISSING?”
flashcard every round. Then get S open their eyes
and say which item is missing.
 Play audio A16 & ask S chant it.
