Group Assignment
This Assignment 1 is to initiate your preparation for the Final Marketing Plan. This is a Group
Assignment and should have NOT MORE THAN FOUR (4) students in a group. There are no right or
wrong answers, rather you will be assessed for how well you support/analyze/justify/evaluate your
argument. The material for the assignment should come from the assigned readings, class discussions,
online databases, external research, etc.
Assignment Question
Your group is required to create a healthcare PRODUCT / SERVICE BUSINESS IDEA that you would
like to develop so that you can launch it in the new high-end shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur soon. A
good product / service idea should start with:
1. A good product / service idea should start with a good understanding of market issue(s).
2. The idea should then be able to address the market issue(s).
3. The market issue(s) should be backed by proper external Situational Analyses and some
indicative market research outcomes.
4. Besides the ability to address the market issue(s), the product / service idea should be developed
considering the internal Situational Analysis outcomes.
5. Present the idea via a recorded video.
6. Prior to preparing the video presentation, it is expected that the group has:
- Completed brainstorming sessions to develop a list of unique and innovative ideas
- Discuss the ideas with some experts e.g. people who are knowledgeable on the subject
- Done a substantive research e.g. internet, references, market studies etc. on the selected idea.
7. Each group member must be involved in the video production. Any free-riders shall be reported
and will be required to produce his/her own video for the same assignment.
8. You can use any creative idea(s) to produce the video.
9. Present your Business Idea proposal via a 3-minute video presentation.
10. The video should be submitted via Moodle by the due date mentioned above.
11. The rubric for Assignment 1 report is based on VIDEO PRESENTATION RUBRIC.

using 12 point Times New Roman font. There are no right or wrong answers, rather you will be assessed
for how well you support/analyze/justify/evaluate your argument. The material for the assignment
should come from the assigned readings, class discussions, online databases, external research, etc. The
number of words should be shown at the end of your assignment. Finally, your report should include a
cover sheet.
Assignment Question
Your group is required to prepare the segmentation, targeting, positioning, marketing plan objectives,
and the tactical strategy ideas for the healthcare PRODUCT / SERVICE BUSINESS IDEA you
proposed in Assignment 1. A good marketing strategy will fulfill the followings:

You are required to create your own MARKETING PLAN for a healthcare product or service business
