MASS MAINTENANCE
DEFINITION:
Mass maintenance analysis is generally used to carry out a bulk changes at the same time.
BUSINESS SCENARIO:
Suppose, from business side they want to make a mass change in material group. A large
number of materials are there; hence it is very difficult to make change for each and
individual material singly. So, to reduce human error and to consume less time mass
maintenance for material we can utilize.
T- CODE:
To create mass maintenance of material, T-code is MM17
SIGNIFICANCE:
➢ Mass maintenance enabling us to make change in a large group of master or
transactional record at a glance
➢ We can select mass maintenance tool within a large number of master data
transaction
➢ For example in a multiple vendor master and material master or multiple purchase
requisition or multiple purchase order we are able to do mass change.

MAPPING IN SAP SYSTEM:-
STEP 1: Initially before the test case we need to have a set of material into the SAP system
where we can test to carry out a mass change. As here in our case we will see mass changes
on material, hence we need to take a set of material for our testing purpose. We can check
the list of materials with the help of T-code MM60

STEP 2: Now we need to start the process for mass maintenance, steps are as followed,
Now, system will give us one warning message, before we are starting to execute mass
changes.

STEP 3:- here, we need to select respective table then execute

STEP 4:- We will select data record to be changed; here we need to put the material
numbers where we wanted to make changes.

STEP 5:- Here, we can select the respective field for mass change

STEP 6:- We will select the respective column for the material group, where the material
group was 00102 previously, which we wanted to change with 00103

STEP 7:- Now, click carry out mass change for a bulk change in material group for selected
materials

On the final stage after the mass change material group for all the selected materials are
getting changed
