Introduction / Opening Remarks

Welcome everyone, and thank you all, for being here today as we take leave of our dear
Daddy, Jess Amorado. We also want to remember the family and friends who could not be
with us today in body but are with us here in spirit.

We gather here not just to mourn the absence of our dearly beloved Father, but also to
celebrate his life, and his legacy.

Although we are sad to see him leave us, we can be joyful in the knowledge that he is now
finally at peace and his soul has finally gone home to be with Mommy, Lola, and Lolo ,
Tito rolly and most especially to be with God. Even though he is no longer living in the
flesh, the memory of him lives on in our hearts.

Many of us are here because, at one time or another, he had touched our lives – whether
they were powerful statements of love and friendship or just a friendly greeting on the
street. Daddy Jess’s life draws us together today and points us forward even without him.

Daddy never wanted any extra praise or renown but he enjoyed doing small things that
made other people happy. These memories will remain with us forever.

I think we can all attest to that.

Eulogy

(Highlights from the deceased person’s life can be shared accompanied by slides or some
form of graphics as desired by the family.)

Please allow the family to share memories first.

[After all candles are lit, and there is a small pause, continue with the ceremony.]

Thank you to those who shared all those beautiful memories. May Dad Jess, live on in all
our hearts and minds.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the life of our father. We thank You for the gift of
eternal life, and we live in the hope of this promise every day knowing that our days on
this earth are numbered but that life with You is eternal.
We pray that You especially uphold and strengthen those closest to Daddy so that You
may give them courage and strength to face the time ahead with courage and
perseverance.

May You keep us all steadfast in our love and faithfulness to You, Father, and may we
follow the path that You have laid out before us. All this we ask in the name of Jesus
Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Recessional

[If the burial is part of the ceremony, for a funeral rather than a memorial service, you
will continue with the following lines.]

Now we will take the mortal remains of our brother/sister to their final resting place until
the day of Resurrection.

[If this is the end of the ceremony, you can end with the following remarks]

We thank every one of you for coming today.

...

Prayer

Almighty God, you love everything you have made and wash over us with your unending mercy. We
rejoice in your promises of healing, joy and peace to all who love you. In your mercy turn the
darkness of death to the dawn of new life, and the sorrow of parting to the joy of heaven; through our
Savior Jesus Christ who died and rose again and who lived forevermore.

AMEN

From despair and unbelief,

And bring us to the light of your presence.

Grant us that peace which the world cannot give

So that we, with may trust in you

And find our life through you.

Lord, you renew the face of the Earth,

Gather to yourself , whom we have loved,

And grant those things

Which eye has not seen, nor ear heard,

Nor the human heart imagined.

Great Father-Mother God,

Watch over us this day - and all days.

Give us the strength to accept what is past,

To appreciate what is present

And to look forward to good in our future.

Grant us peace; sacred moments of communion with the Universe

And faith - in whatever most expresses our deepest inner truth.

Bless us and heal us; breathe peace and grace into our lives

Amen.
