Somaliland Football Management System
Somaliland Football Management System
The proposed system intends to address the inefficiencies of traditional filing methods, which can result in deteriorating document conditions and difficulties in retrieving information. Unlike the filing method and Excel usage, which are not optimal for large data management, the system will streamline registration, match management, and reporting, thereby reducing the incidence of manual errors .
The system ensures management of player eligibility by producing pre-printed papers stating player status, whether eligible or suspended. This allows coaches and officials to verify which players are available for selection in matches, thus maintaining the integrity of team rosters .
The system plans to enhance data access by allowing users to view comprehensive reports through a dedicated module. This includes league standings, match results, individual player contributions such as goals scored and assists, and statuses like player eligibility. By compiling and presenting these data points digitally, it eliminates the need for manual calculations and documentation .
The significant benefits provided by the system to FAS include improved efficiency in data management, reduced manual errors, easier access to player and match data, and automated generation of league standings and reports. These enhancements streamline the organizational tasks associated with running football tournaments .
The system handles reporting by compiling all match results and generating a league-standing table reflecting team positions based on points accumulated. It views match outcomes and other statistics, such as top scorers and disciplinary records, within a dedicated module, ensuring comprehensive coverage of tournament progress .
The expected outputs of the system include a league-standing table automatically calculating team points, a tournament fixture calendar, team-specific calendars, player statuses, and their contributions in terms of games played, goals scored, and assists made .
Financial management is excluded from the system's scope because the financial aspects of tournament operations are typically managed by separate departments or individuals, indicating a division of responsibilities that allows the proposed system to focus on core tournament management functions .
The Fixture Generation module creates a calendar for the entire season and individual matches for each team competing in the tournament. It includes critical details such as match locations, ensuring that all logistical information is readily available .
The proposed system aims to address challenges such as the decay and hard-to-read condition of paper-stored documents, the time-consuming nature of searching for documents, and the unsuitability of Excel for large data management. These challenges result in inefficiencies and increased likelihood of human error, which the system seeks to mitigate through digital solutions .
The primary objectives of the Football League Management System are to produce an efficient system capable of managing information regarding managers, players, coaches, teams, and matches during the tournament; and to generate common reports that can be used during football tournaments, such as league standings based on match results .
