6:30 p.m Pilar St., Tacloban City, Mark Chan, a 25-year-old married resident
of the area, reported an alleged killing incident involving Andrei
Bernardo, a 21-year-old single resident of the same street. Police
officers PCPT JP Taduran, PLT Juan Miguel Severo, PLT Sonny
Merioles, and PLT Wilson Legazpi responded to the call for

Reynaldo Suarez, had been drinking at a nearby convenience
store. Around the same time, Andrea Bernardo, the victim's sister,
visited the store, while the victim, Andrei, was using his phone
beneath a caimito tree in front of the store. Mistakenly identifying

breakup. Hearing his sister's distress, Andrei intervened, leading to
a physical altercation. Despite Andrei's attempt to defend his sister,
Reynaldo managed to stab him near his right torso before fleeing
the scene. Prompted by Mark Chan, the store owner, authorities
were notified of the incident, leading to Reynaldo's arrest the
following day. Meanwhile, Andrei's body was taken for autopsy.
