To enter test mode with the front cover in place, press the designated button while turning the power on, indicated by four buzzer sounds. Without the cover, press SW1 and SW3 on the main PCB assembly while turning the power on. Test mode allows for functional testing and troubleshooting of different operational components, helping in identifying possible faults .
Correctly attaching the operation PCB holder is critical for ensuring system stability and functionality. Improper assembly may lead to loose connections or electrical malfunctions, which could result in operational errors or device failure .
When in test mode without the front cover, adjustments include selecting operational speeds and switching between forward and reverse feed. This is done by pressing SW3 and SW5 for changing speeds and modes, enabling comprehensive testing of feeding and stitch operations .
Earthing is crucial to prevent static electricity build-up when handling electronic components. It dissipates static charges that could otherwise damage sensitive circuits. Ensuring your body is earthed protects the hardware from electrostatic discharge .
Reassembling the presser foot lifter involves attaching retaining ring E4 to the presser lift shaft, applying Molykote EM30L grease to the shaft, inserting it into the thread releaser assembly, attaching washers, and then securing the presser foot lifter in place. It's crucial to apply only a small amount of grease to prevent over-lubrication, which could affect performance .
When handling printed circuit boards, it is important to wear rubber gloves and avoid touching the metal parts with bare hands. This is to prevent damage from static electricity, as static can harm the delicate circuits. Furthermore, circuit boards should be packed in aluminum foil to avoid impacts during storage or transportation .
To disassemble the front cover of the main unit, remove four screws to detach the operation PCB assembly, rubber keys, key top rear plate, and VR key tops. This process requires a screwdriver and possibly other tools to safely handle delicate components .
Molykote EM30L grease is used to reduce friction and ensure smooth operation of moving parts, preventing wear and tear. It should be applied to the operating surface of the presser lifter shaft and the presser foot lifter .
The front cover assembly is done by first attaching the rubber keys and key tops to the operation PCB holder, followed by securing the operation PCB assembly with four screws. The specified torque for these screws is 0.57 – 0.78 N·m to ensure proper fastening .
The presser foot lifter removal process includes removing the retaining ring, sliding out the presser lift shaft, detaching washers, and finally removing the presser foot lifter. Each step must be handled carefully to maintain the integrity of the components .
