TASK 1:

The diagram show the various stages in the process of making matches. First, logs
are peeled layer until veneer appears. This layer of venner is cut into small sticks
and immersed in an ammonium phosphate bath. After that, the small sticks will be
dried and then move to the next stage.

Next, the matches are moved to the storage area and they are arranged in a tube.
They are then plugged into a pre-perforated conveyor belt, and as the conveyor belt
moves, the matches are dipped into three tanks such as paraffin wax, based
chemicals, tip chemicals. After being dipped in those three tanks, they will be
moved to the drying area. The final step is packaging, the matches are carefully
packed inside box.

TASK 2:

In recent years, it is believed that fresh water on earth is lacking serious and has
caused al lot of problems.

First, the society is developing more and more, and there are many big cities and
factories. Although in urban areas, the supply of clean water is not a big problem,
but in remote areas, it is a serious problem. The people can not afford to buy clean
water and do not have the equipment to purify the water. So, they have to use
water from lakes, rivers, streams and are not guaranteed clean. In addition, the
illegal discharge of wastewater in to the environment by factories also causes a
serious shortage of clean water. Because the water source has been polluted.

Second, the polluted water source leading to a shortage of clean water is also due
to people’s awareness. Some people even throw garbage or bottles into ponds and
lakes, causing the water source become flooded with garbage. Near my house,
there is also a lake where all the water becomes black because people often litter.

People nees to be aware of the shortage of clean water, come up with and
implement solutions to solve this problem. First of all, it should start from the
government, the government should more closely manage the discharge of
wastewater at factories and pay more attetion to remote areas. Next, people need to
be aware and responsible to protect the surrounding water.
In conclusion, the shortage of clean water is one of the most concerned issues, the
goverment and people nees to join hands to protect water resources on earth.
