Experience into Lessons ;

Do you believe that as we born in this world, we are a blank slate ? Maybe yes, maybe
not. But you know what I believe? It is the fact that as we grow up, we run into different
experience in life that may either be a blessing or a lesson.
Growing up, I have seen the world as playground, where I can do so much, learn so
much. From learning to mingle with others, to creating bond not only with my family but also to
others. Herein we could also fall and learns to stand up, discover different things, explore our
potentials and gifts. And even develop our given talents. In this world, knowing and better
understanding our self is a roller coaster ride.
I am Marjorie Sescon Amor, 16, and blowing my birthday candle every 11 th of October. I
am the youngest daughter of Mr. Joie Amor, and Mrs. Marichu Amor. I have two elder siblings,
who are currently a college students. I love writing poems, listening to music, watching vlogs of
my favorite artist, and I also love hanging out with my peers. My favorite color is pink, and
maybe the reason why I love the cartoon character hello kitty. I am currently a Grade 11
students at Alimodian National Comprehensive High school, under Academic Track, HUMMS
strand.
I grow up in a family, where knowing your priorities is a must. Since we were kids, my
parents already taught us how to give importance on things that will be beneficial to us,
particularly in our study. I was molded to achieve great heights, and dream big. And I am
currently working on that. In terms of my personality, different people has different judgement
about that. But, I see my self as a reliable yet short tempered – I get irritated easily especially if I
could not understand something or it doesn’t come my way. I have my bad days and good days.
When good days come, I am cheerful, and may laugh my hearts out. Everyone has its own
positive – negative traits which we may assess, develop or change as we are growing. May we
learn to see our good and bad side as our strength in honing our personalities. I love food ! I am
fond of doing different food combinations which my elder sister finds weird. Food is my main
comforter. Also, I love journaling, I express my thoughts through words. I jot down every details
and experiences on that day on my special notebook, so that I can be able to look back someday.
On a more serious note, I believe that, we have the capacity to twist our life experiences into
lessons. That’s why at the young age, I am collecting memories, and treasure them for I know, I
am not privilege enough to turn back time. Collecting experience is collecting lessons. I
remember, when I was younger, my Mom would always scold me for not listening and
understanding her teachings to me. I have the tendency to get bored easily, and my patience are
not that long also, to sustain long period of sitting there and just listening to her. She even throw
pencil right in front of me out of frustration. As I take a look back, I may find it funny, but you
know what I realized ? If my mother didn’t discipline me enough during my younger years, I
would’ve not been this dedicated to my study. If I was not trained closely, I may grow up, having
a thought that education is not this important. That’s the reason why I think, experiences are the
ones that leads us to where we are right now.
Through my experience and lessons in my 16 th year of existence, I see the world on different
point of views, I get to see things on a different surface, I get to appreciate time, and life in
general. I’m still working, yes – but supporting me on this life are the people, places, and events
that I encountered whom, or that teaches me so much. This is me, whether you agree or not, I am
someone who turns my losses and experiences into lessons, someone who loves food and
writing. Let’s all celebrate small wins, and losses, shall we ? for both of these makes up our
whole being.
