General Instruction:
Given the necessary tools, materials and equipment, you are required
to perform land preparation with the following standard.
(Allotted time: 2 hrs.)
Specific Instruction:
1. Start clearing the area by removing the weeds and other
unnecessary things.
2. Plow the field in accordance to the existing tools.
3. Harrow the field in accordance to the existing tools.
4. Lay-out the field using measuring tape, stakes and string
5. Prepare the raised beds by digging out the furrows.

Answer: The purpose of land preparation is to provide the best
soil condition which will enhance the successful establishment
of the plants/crops.
2. How do you prepare raised beds?
Answer: Raised beds are covered with plastic mulch to create a
closed planting bed. Raised beds may be rectangular in shape
or have an irregular shape. They can be formal or informal in
their design. A raised bed does not need to be very deep to be
productive.

Answer: Basal fertilizer is applied in the soil by digging holes or
mixing basal fertilizer into the soil of preferred bed before
planting the seedling.
Foliar fertilizer is applied by spraying into the plant
leaves and body during ambient temperature while the stomata
are open.
2. How do you perform improve fertility in the soil?
Answer:
Use of organic fertilizer: Basal and Foliar fertilizer
Loosen the soil and spray IMO to increase the growth of
beneficial organism.
