Questions

Instructions: Answer the 8 questions with a minimum of 50 words for each one.

1. What do you know?

a. Among all these pictures, which do you think gives the right description of
the crucifixion of Christ? Explain your answer?

- For me, all of the pictures give the correct description of the crucifixion of Christ
except the black and white photo. Also, although the remaining three photos were
similar, for me, the first picture best describe the crucifixion of Christ. My
explanation of this will be on the next paragraph.

b. Explain the reason why you gave that answer? What was in your mind?

- The reason why I don’t think the black and white photo doesn’t give the right
description of the crucifixion of Christ is because in that photo, the hands of Jesus
were nailed at the top of his head and the horizontal part of the cross where his
hands should be nailed was missing.

- The reason why I picked the first photo as the picture that best describes the
crucifixion of Christ is because it has accurate details in it.

2. Analysis
a. In the light of the study about humanities, Can you consider the Seven Wise
Men of the Philippines as having equal importance among the wise men of
Asia?
- Yes, I think that the seven wise men of the Philippines have equal importance
with the wise men of Asia because they fit the characteristics that the wise men of
Asia have. The seven wise men of the Philippines were law makers and drafted
the 1935 constitution, which is the fundamental law in the Philippines. If not for
their knowledge and wisdom, we might not have been able to establish the 1935
Constitution of the Philippines.

b. What do you think are the qualities of Philippine art? In your opinion, what
makes Philippine art Filipino?

- In my opinion, one of the qualities of Philippine art includes depiction of everyday

life here in the Philippines through various mediums. That’s why we have paintings,
riddles, folk songs, poems, etc. A Philippine art is Filipino when, of course, a
Filipino creates that art and it reflects the culture, traditions, and the way of living
here in the Philippines.

3. Assessment
a. If you were to add to the lesson, what would they be? Create new ideas/
knowledge and share it in the discussion.

- There is no particular lesson I would like to add, however, it would be better if

there are more information, details, and examples for the topics/ lessons already
included in this particular module. This is to help us understand these topics better.
Rather than adding more lessons to learn, I think that it is important to deeply
understand the lessons in this module first.

b. Why do you think this philosophical theory of art can be an avenue for the
discussion and dissemination of these realities in our country? How can the
recipients of artworks be more involved?
- Because the philosophical theory of art includes self-knowledge, it would help the
people in this country get to know themselves more, and to better understand
themselves and the realities of our country. The recipient of artworks interpret the
artworks they receive so, in this way, they can involve themselves more in the
artwork through providing their own interpretation.

4. Reflections
a. Examine the philosophical theory of art you learned. What significant lesson
did you find it personal?

- One of the philosophical theory of art was Socrates’ “Know thyself”. Indeed, this
is very personal because it includes knowing yourself. However, I believe that it
does not stop there. Knowing yourself will eventually lead to understanding the
self. So, it was very helpful and significant lesson for me to learn.

b. In what part of the lesson did you find easy or hard to illustrate in the way
that you learned? Why?

-Maybe because I wasn’t very fond of arts so there is no particular easy

lesson, however, when I tried to study and understand the lessons in this module,
I learned that art is important not only to serve as entertainment but also to depict
the culture and traditions of a certain place. So, I became more interested in this
subject.
