The exercise shall be carried out in the bridge simulator with a man to
station ratio of maximum 4:1.
Condition
The exercise in all stations/bridges will be stopped by the
instructor/assessor within 5 min after the specified simulation time.
Student must be familiarized with the use of the simulator using the

The student regulates rate of turn in degrees per minute based on the
ship’s maneuvering information and Pilot card; ship should uphold

1. Compute the required rate of turn and ploy based on speed and
rot.
2. Plot/check vessel position regularly by any means.
3. Ensure position along the intended route.
4. Switch on GPS panel; ARPA must adapt the ship’s present
coordinates by activating the GPS button from the radar screen
under the NAVIGATE menu.
