Project Implementation and Results

Time and Place of Implementation/Pilot Testing

In project like these, a trial run or pilot test is not

possible, instead, the proponent conducted an in-depth

online research to gather pertinent information relevant to

this study.

The proponent conducted an online research to various

assisted living facilities in the Philippines and made a

survey questionnaires to collect the preferences of the

target market.

The online research focuses mainly on five factors -

the location, the price, the products & services, the

marketing, and the philosophy of the targeted business. With

these the researcher was able to gather pertinent data

relevant to the study.

Sampling Design

The table below presents the schedule of activities,

persons involved as well as the targeted results related to

the completion of the project.

The researcher collected data through sending out

questionnaires to selected respondents. A total of 50

respondents were targeted to participate in the said survey.

Non-random sampling was used by the research in

gathering data. It is a purposive type of sampling design

that evaluates the characteristics from the target

population which will give the best possible result of the

survey.

Research Design

Descriptive research method was used in this study.

This conclusive research design aims to generate useful and

reliable results for decision-making or conclusion-making.

Utilizing this method provides valuable insights to the

researcher to draw precise and measurable information that

is invaluable to the project’s interests and objectives.

121

Instrumentation and Validation

In this study, the researcher used a questionnaire that

consisting items that best determines the respondents’

personal characteristics, behavioural preferences,

dependency and illnesses. Part one of the questionnaire

determines the socio-demographic profile of the respondents.

Part two of the questionnaire aims to determine the indexed

dependency of the respondents in doing daily activities.

Part three is to measure the rated dependency of the

respondents in doing daily activities and the last part is

to determine any underlying illness of the respondents.

To ease the distribution of the questionnaires, the

researcher opted to ask for assistance from the local

government unit to determine the number of senior citizens

in their respective area. The researcher also assists the

respondents’ inquiries through online channels. After the

run of the survey, the data were gathered and analyzed.

Before the distribution of the questionnaires, the

questions and other elements present on the questionnaire

were corrected and validated by the feasibility study

adviser to ensure that the information that will be gathered

is in the range of relevance of the study.

122

Statistical Analysis

Frequency distribution and percentage were used in the

interpretation of the data. Upon data collection, the

information is systematically classified, tabulated,

computed, and analyzed to derive meaningful interpretations.

Frequency distribution represents sets of organized

data which shows the frequency of occurrence of repeatable

responses observed. On the other hand, percentage were

calculated by taking the value of the frequency in the

specific set of category and dividing it to the total number

of respondents. The quotient then is multiplied by 100% to

get the percentage result. The calculation methods represent

the percentage of respondents which answers or preferences

are the same in a category.

Overall, this analysis method helps to determine and

present the acceptability and the willingness of the

respondents to patronize the proposed project.

Results and Discussion

The tables below illustrate the summary of answers and

preferences of the respondents as indicated in the survey

questionnaire. The survey collected responses a total of

fifty (50) participants, consisting of varying demographics.
