Report on the Incidence of crime during the period January to June 2009.

The table categorizes three types of crime during January to June 2009. These are traffic violations,
misdemeanors and felonies. Each category is then broken down in two sections showing the movement
from January to March 2009 to April to June 2009. During this period, the highest number of offences
occurred from persons speeding during the period January to March 2009. These amounted to 650. The
lowest number of offences occurred from persons kidnapping during the period January to March 2009.
These amounted to 29.

The majority of crime situations occurred through traffic violations. For both speeding and driving under
the influence of alcohol, there was a significant decrease in offences committed over the stipulated
period of time, moving from 650 to 592 and 112 to 83 respectively. However, there was a sharp increase
in the violation of traffic lights where offences jumped from 379-431.

The second highest number of crime situations occurred through felonies. The majority of these felonies
were drug possession which started at 114 offences and quickly moved to 145. This was followed by
murders which skyrocketed from 68 to 81 offences. The least amount of felonies occurred through
kidnappings which also increased from 29 to 37 occurrences.

The least amount of crimes occurred through misdemeanors. Vagrancy proved to be a slowly increasing
trend, where crime offences moved from 39 to 42. The statistics of the other two crimes in this category,
littering and loitering indicated a steady decrease moving from 87 to 76 and 41 to 39 respectively.
