Motivation: Studying cyber security equips you with various skills, including threat
detection and analysis, network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, and risk
management. These skills are valuable not only in the cyber security field but also in IT and
related industries. Studying cyber security is essential in today`s digital age because it helps
you protect valuable information and systems from cyber threats.
Introduction: Blockchain technology helps making the process of using Domain Name
Systems (DNS) more secure and less vulnerable to cyber-attacks. This keeps people and
organizations safer when they are online. Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting systems,
networks, and programs from digital attacks. These cyberattacks are usually aimed at
accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users via
ransomware; or interrupting normal business processes. This distributed database that enables
transparent and tamper-proof record-keeping, to reduce risks against attacks and fraud in an
untrusting ecosystem. Blockchain relies on cryptography, decentralization to ensure trust in
transactions and to provide strong encryption and verification of data ownership and
integrity. Blockchain can also remove centralized control, which can be manipulated4, and
eliminate the need for some passwords, which are often the weakest link. Blockchain-based
cybersecurity solutions are expected to grow rapidly in the next year.

Understanding Fake Social Media Profiles:
1) Importance of Detection Learn why it is so important to identify and report fake social
media profiles, and the impact these can have on users and society.
2) Traits of Fake Profiles Discover common characteristics of fake profiles and the methods
used to create them, including fake profile pictures and lack of personal details.
3)Detection Techniques Explore automated algorithms, machine learning, and other
techniques to identify fake social media profiles based on their behaviour and activities.
When cyber fraudsters create a social media profile using the identity details like name,
address, mail id, photograph etc., of victim, without their knowledge, it is called a fake
profile creation. The fraudsters create fake profile with an intention of causing harm to the
victim. The fraudsters use the fake profile to spread false or fake information, damage the
reputation of the victim, and may also send friend requests to other friends of victim to gain
financial benefit.
Dangers of fake social media profile creation
Using the fake profile created the fraudster may commit offences-
Spread fake and false information
Damage reputation of victim
Send false friend requests
Lure children and teenagers with fake identity
Reporting and Addressing Fake Profiles:
1) The Importance of Reporting Learn why it is essential to report fake profiles to social
media platforms and the potential consequences of not doing so.
2) Platforms and Tools for Reporting Discover various tools and platforms.
3) User-Platform Collaboration Explore the importance of user awareness and education,
and the role of social media platforms in collaborating to combat fake profiles.
Overview of the Problem: The rise of social media has brought about a new set of
challenges, one of which is the proliferation of fake profiles. These profiles are created for a
variety of reasons, such as spreading misinformation, phishing for personal information, or
even cyberbullying. The problem is widespread and affects individuals, businesses, and
society. In this section, we will explore the common characteristics of fake profiles and
provide tools and best practices for detecting and reporting them.
Conclusion: Report the fake profile account - Almost all social media platforms have a
process in place for fake profiles and for profiles impersonating someone. Follow the process
on each platform and the provider will investigate the account and (if found to be fake)
remove the profile and its content. Be aware of friend requests or interaction from strangers
online and never give personal information. Inform your friends and family about the dangers
of fake social media profiles and the importance of reporting them. If you discover a fake
profile, report it to the social media platform as soon as possible.
People being benefited by the Project / Stakeholders:
Cybersecurity is critical because it helps to protect organizations and individuals from cyber-
attacks. Cybersecurity can help to prevent data breaches, identity theft, and other types of
cybercrime. Organizations must have strong cybersecurity measures to protect their data and
customers. Email security measures such as advanced spam filters, email encryption, and
email authentication protocols like DKIM and SPF allow me to shield myself from phishing
attempts, malicious attachments, and email spoofing that could compromise my data, privacy,
and online identity. Blockchain helps in saving costs, improving efficiency, and bringing
transparency. It has solutions to the challenges faced by different industries. It is improving
global businesses by making companies more efficient and profitable.
