La Nina so far no problem

La Nina continues to be a mystery for most of Argentina and S Brazil. Will the shoe drop anytime soon? We will have to wait at least another three weeks to get our answer.

Dry weather for the next 48 hours across Argentina-highs in the 70s and 80s. Dry weather for another 48 hours then rains return to Argentina. S Brazil will be dry for another 96 hours.

Sundaythe heaviest rains then move northward, into N and NE Argentina. 0.50-1.00 inch falls from Santiago del Estero to La Pampa. The heaviest is predicted in Chaco and northern Santa Fe.

Monday1-2+ inches reaches Paraguay and Parana in S Brazil, with lingering showers over much of N Argentina.

Remote sensing (11/11/11), shows vegetation health across Argentina and S Brazil as decent to vigorous. Particularly noted are the deep blues showing from Buenos Aires to Sao Paulo/ Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil. West and Southwest Argentina (rains to reach Friday) shows stressed, as does parts of important Mato Grosso in Brazil. The second straight year of La Nina conditions has so far been tamer than the first.
