Vision: Facilitating ICT enabled Delivery of Government Services Mission: Common Infrastructure for Seamless Network Backbone upto district; Server Farms for hosting applications to provide services to citizens; Secured network; Providing neutral consulting and assisting Centre/States in managing strategic control of outsourced applications development; Undertake designated mission mode projects at national, state, district and grassroots level; Capacity building Objectives: ICT Infrastructure for E-Governance IT Consulting & Support to the Government E-Governance Applications & Services Focus on Back-end (G2G) systems with Citizen Interface (G2C) Design, Development/ Deployment & Roll out of E-Gov services Capacity & Capability Building

To provide the following to the Central Government Departments (except Defence, Railways & Intelligence), State Governments/UTs administrations and district administrations:
High speed & Secured e-Governance backbone (NICNET) National Data Centres Disaster Recovery Video Conferencing Facility Design, Development and implementation of e-Governance Applications with focus on Back-end (G2G) systems with Citizen Interface (G2C). Undertaking Mission Mode Projects of the departments. Neutral consulting to the Government Departments in formulation, implementation and roll-out of their ICT projects. Standardization & Productization of selected e-Gov Applications. Certifying Authority Provide/Organize schedule training and on site training to the Government employees in the use of e-Governance applications.

NIC is providing the network services on 24 X 7 basis. Uptime in a year This is made available to the user department.
E-Governance applications and services relate to number of e-Governance applications designed/ developed/ implemented at various sites as desired by user departments during the year.
Accordingly targets have been taken in terms of numbers.
