Module 5 Activities
Activity 5.1
Explain about the proverb ―Ang mga lider ay tinuturing na huwaran‖ (Leaders are always
taken as role models). 10 points for this Activity 5.1.
Role models are people who have a good impact on our lives; being a role model is a
fundamental trait of a leader. Followers desire to be led by someone who can be held up as an example
in practically everything they do. By their lifestyle, conduct, and deeds, good leaders set the tone for
their followers. Followers will become lifelong fans of a leader who serves as a mirror in which they
may view themselves and make changes in order to live a more deserving and better life. If someone
actually wants to succeed as a leader, they must pay special attention to the requirements of their
followers. Be supportive of your teammates and do everything you can to help them achieve their goals
rather than your own. Be a dependable person. Being trustworthy is a crucial characteristic. When you
declare you'll do something, you should follow through. Be on time. People will look to you for
guidance, so make sure you follow through on all of your promises. Even when things are difficult,
have a cheerful attitude. Smiles are contagious, and sometimes all it takes to make someone else's day
is a simple smile. Always expect for the best, but be compassionate if you are disappointed.
Success necessitates perseverance. There will be challenges no matter what you do. Don't allow the
roadblocks get in the way of your progress. Keep your concentration and never lose up. Have courage,
and believe in yourself and your ability. You've worked hard to get to this point, so trust yourself and
your team. Don't be stingy with your time and abilities. Spend time in your neighborhood doing things
for others. Volunteering with local groups will not only benefit you personally, but will also benefit
people around you.
Respect others, observe your manners, and follow good etiquette. Respect everyone you come into
contact with. Set a good example for others by being courteous to them and handling yourself with
elegance. That is how you may be an excellent leader and role model for all of your team members.
Self-Check Test 1
Write a simple essay from among the leadership style that you want to adopt in the future. With
the Minimum 250 words. 30 points for this Self Check Test 1
Democratic or participative leadership, and he spontaneous leadership style are three leadership
styles that I hope to embrace in the future. Some individuals attempt to avoid taking chances, while
others are unafraid to take them. Leaders, on the other hand, are willing and compelled to take risks.
Longevity, meaningful experiences, greater finances, and a more motivated, loyal, and trustworthy
team are all benefits of taking risks as a leader. Risk-taking leaders don't merely take chances for the
sake of their personal advancement; they do it with the best interests of their followers in mind. Future
leaders must understand that focusing on people, both workers and consumers, is the only way to
achieve long-term success. The finest leaders are those who take risks in order to provide their
employees a better experience.
Servant Leadership with organicity is also essential. Being orderly projects a favorable image,
which is critical since leaders transmit signals. We want to project the appearance that we have
everything under control, that we can and will focus on what matters most, rather than on activities that
keep us busy but may not have the greatest impact. Being organized allows us to be more productive,
set an example for our team members, and impress our external clients – and to manage our time more
effectively.
Finally, democratic participative leadership is a management style in which all members of an
organization collaborate to make choices. Because everyone is encouraged to participate, participative
leadership is also known as democratic leadership. Collaboration is fostered by participatory leadership.
When employees' attempts to contribute based on their thoughts or experience are rejected, they may
feel suffocated or silenced. There is a platform for these thoughts to be voiced through participatory
leadership. Participative leadership allows an organization to grow. More openness is achieved by
including employees in decision-making. The free flow of ideas is facilitated by participatory
leadership. Every employee has something to offer. While not all comments are relevant or practical,
fostering a discussion atmosphere encourages others to offer their ideas, which may then be polished,
analyzed, and expanded upon.

Self-Check Test 3
Pick one Types of Leadership approaches. Then cite a situation during the Covid crisis that can
help the leader. (25 points).
Covid-19 has caused uncertainty among organizations, requiring executives to focus without
any prior preparation their focus on the type of leadership that is appropriate for the pandemic situation
Leadership must be clearly mastered in order to be competent in dealing with a new challenge. Leaders
must understand leadership techniques, including motivating subordinates to perform at their best even
when situations are hampered by unforeseen events. Within the pandemic context, even leaders must be
prepared to establish backup actions as contingencies on operating standards and processes. The finest
leadership style I can perceive during the Covid 19 epidemic is democratic or participative leadership,
which is defined as a leadership style in which all members of an organization collaborate to make
choices. Because everyone is encouraged to participate, participative leadership is also known as
democratic leadership. During the epidemic, the government imposed a community quarantine,
prohibiting individuals from leaving their homes without permission from the authorities. The
implementation will not be possible without the involvement of civilians. As a result, democratic or
participatory leadership is the most effective strategy for assisting the administration. We also see a
community pantry in this strategy, which was created by a concerned citizen to assist others during a
pandemic. Participative leadership is essential because it promotes teamwork. When employees'
attempts to contribute based on their thoughts or experience are rejected, they may feel suffocated or
silenced. There is a platform for these thoughts to be voiced through participatory leadership.
Participative leadership allows an organization to grow. This is especially crucial in an age when
enterprises are being scrutinized more closely. More openness is achieved by including employees in
decision-making. The free flow of ideas is facilitated by participatory leadership. Every employee has
something to offer. While not all comments are relevant or practical, fostering a discussion atmosphere
encourages others to offer their ideas, which may then be polished, analyzed, and expanded upon.

Let’s Assess: Reflection
Module 5 Activities
1. Did you experience to become a leader in your community or in your classroom work or
Classroom officer?
-Yes.
2. Can you tell me about a time when you demonstrated leadership skills?
- During my four years as President of our dance organization, I have demonstrated good
leadership skills such as communication with my members, patience in difficult situations,
being reliable and dependable in all situations, particularly during dance performances, risk-
taking and being prepared for possible outcomes, and decisiveness. Effective leaders can make
swift judgments based on the facts they have. Time and experience are required for effective
decision-making. You'll be able to make faster judgments as you grow more knowledgeable
with your business, even if you don't have all of the essential information. Decisiveness is
regarded as a beneficial leadership trait since it may aid in the speedier completion of tasks and
increased efficiency.
3. Are you able to delegate responsibilities efficiently?
-I could say yes.
4. What can you do to motivate a team?
- 1. Make them feel important. People like to be respected and enjoy receiving praise and
acknowledgment for a job well done, particularly in front of their friends. Praise might help
them feel that they're part of the team and that they're accomplishing their objectives.
2. Clear and frequent communication is essential. Clear and frequent communication is crucial
to the success of your team.
3. Encourage advancement in your career. Though a member sees limited opportunity for
progress, they may feel as if they have nothing to strive for. Create additional duties for team
members to broaden their experience and position them for advancement. Provide chances for
training and growth, as well as demonstrating your faith in your personnel.
5. What value are most important to you as a leader?
- 1. Development and empowerment
You are in a position of authority as a leader. Rather than trying to preserve all of that power
and control for themselves, a good leader empowers others and, as a result, increases their own
influence. Formal talent management, continuing mentorship, and workforce development can
all contribute to this empowerment. Mentorship and responsibility delegation can also be
beneficial. A stronger team is built through empowering others via mentoring and delegation of
challenging responsibilities. You'll be assisting in the development of future leaders you can
trust.
2. Humility. Leaders must be lifelong learners. Humility is required to be in that receptive
condition of mind. If you are unable to accept and process mistakes, you may miss out on
opportunities to gain insight. Knowing when to seek help from others is also part of humility.
Seek help from others with greater expertise or coaches if you have a knowledge gap in a
certain area. Consult the individuals closest to the job or your clients if your strategy isn't
engaging with your audience.
3. Integrity. Integrity is a quality that attracts admiration and trust. As a leader, integrity is being
consistent and coherent in all aspects of your job, including how you interact with people, carry
out your organization's objective, and tackle new situations. Integrity entails keeping promises
(especially to oneself) and doing what you say you'll do, as well as tackling problems in a way
that is consistent with your other values and beliefs. Because it encompasses so much, leading
with integrity might seem abstract, but think of it as combining all of your key leadership
beliefs – the aim does not justify the means if the methods contradict our underlying values. If
we only show our values when things are going well, our employees will notice. You will lead
with integrity if you understand your leadership principles, examine them, and let them drive
your actions.
6. Are you able to collaborate with others and accept new ideas
-Yes. Leadership involves the capacity to assemble and sustain a cohesive group of people
working toward a common objective. Other leadership abilities, such as good communication

and conflict resolution, are required for team formation. Building relationships is one of the
most crucial abilities for a leader since it improves communication of tasks, responsibilities, and
goals. You will benefit from being able to assess strengths, allocate work, and fulfill your goals
more smoothly after you have a better understanding of each other.
