SPM-4601-01

My Reflection

Looking back on my journey through the Sport Management program and my internship,

I find myself equipped with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience that positions me

well for success in the sports industry. I explored through a range of topics during my time in the

SPM program, giving me a thorough understanding of how the sports industry functions. Every

lesson I took, from studying the foundations of sports management to exploring into subjects like

marketing, finance, and event management/planning. All gave me a new set of skills and

equipped me to confidently navigate the challenges of the sports industry.

My internship was beneficial to my education, I did it at the athletic department at

Winston-Salem State University. I was assigned a variety of tasks while working in the hectic

world of collegiate athletics, including handling athlete affairs, helping with event management,

and offering administrative support. These practical experiences improved my multitasking and

organizing abilities while also expanding my comprehension of the inner workings of sports

programs.

My participation in volunteer work within the sports business, in addition to an

internship, further improved my professionalism and preparedness for a future in sports. Whether

it was helping out at community outreach initiatives, volunteering at athletic events, or coaching

young teams, these experiences gave me a true enthusiasm for utilizing sports as an opportunity

for positive change and a sense of duty and leadership. I am sure that I can make a significant

contribution to the sports business as I move forward in my career. Based on my strong academic
background, practical abilities, and persistent enthusiasm for sports, I am confident that I can

thrive in positions like athletic program administrator, marketing specialist, or event planner. In

addition, my dedication to ongoing learning guarantees that I will always be flexible and ready to

succeed in a field that is always changing.

In summary, the SPM program and my many experiences in the world of sports have not

only given me the tools I need to succeed, but they have also kindled a profound enthusiasm for

changing the sports industry for the better. I can't wait to travel further and make significant

contributions to the development and prosperity of the sports industry.
