NANOROBOTICS
Nanorobotics is branch of robotics which deals with the production and the design of microscopic scale nanomoter sized robots. The size of these robots may range from 1 to 100 nanometers. These developments have been possible due to the developments in the field of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is the study of manipulating matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally nanotechnology deals with developing materials, devices, or other structures possessing at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers. Nanotechnology is very diverse, ranging from extensions of conventional device physics to completely new approaches based on molecular self assembly from developing new materials with dimensions on the naonoscale to investigating whether we can directly control matter on the atomic scale. Nanotechnology entrails the application of fields of science as diverse as surface science, organic chemistry, molecular biology, semiconductor physics, micro fabrication, etc. nanorobots are the outputs of nanotechnology engineering discipline. Nanorobots are of different types and are used for different purposes. 1. Nanorobots : Nanorobots are micro robots and are very tiny in size. They are mainly used for medical purposes. Researches are being carried out on them on the field of medicine, swarm operations, clustering and military purposes. 2. Nanoids Nanoids are composite structures created through nano technology that imitate the characteristics of biological organizations. Smaller electronics circuits can function more complex operations with reduced energy needs. Smaller medical inventions like Nanoids will likely interact with cells in the human body at a molecular level for more fine tuned diagnosis and localized healing of pathology. 3. Nanite A Nanite also known as nanomachines, nanobot or other similar variations of the prefix is a machine designed on a very small scale. A Nanite will not be like a traditional machine. Most likely it will be organically based. In fact it may be a new bioengineered bacterium which has caused some people to strongly urge

developers to exercise caution. If the Nanite were to mutate the consequences could be disastrous or wondrous. Currently nanites are in research and development phase and no Nanite is serving practical applications exists. There is no timeframe outlining when nanomachines may be built that are deemed safe enough to complete intended task. 4. Nanomachines
These are devices built from individual atoms. Some researches believe that nanomachines will one day be able to enter living cells to fight diseases. They also hope to one day build nanomachines that will be able to rearrange atoms in order to construct new objects. If they succeed, nanomachines could be used to literally turn dirt into food and perhaps eliminate poverty.

The greatest use of nanorobots will be in the field of medicine and healthcare. Nanomanufacturing is the construction of matter and merchandise through: (1) Direct Molecular Assembly (DMA) -- discrete, directed creation of individual atoms and molecules into macroscale elements and commodities; (2) Indirect Crystalline Assembly (ICA) -- formation of conditions that foster the growth of nano size crystals that are then combined into larger scale materials and inventions; or (3) Massive Parallelism Assembly (MPA) -- the creation of most nano-machines or nanorobots whose operating parameters create them to work synergistically to form atoms and micro-scale materials into macroscale materials and goods.
