Research Methodology for Non-Face-to-Face Math Classes

This research will use a descriptive-correlational survey method to describe the relationship between demographic profiles and perceptions of students, teachers, and parents regarding non-face-to-face mathematics classes. The study will be conducted at Brooke's Point National Senior High School and Municipality of Brooke's Point, Palawan by surveying grade 11 STEM students, teachers, and parents. Data will be analyzed using frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, and correlation coefficient.

Chapter 3

Research Methodology

This chapter presents the research design, research locale, population and sampling

procedures, data gathering instrument, data gathering procedure and statistical treatment.

Research Design

This research will use a Descriptive-Correlational Survey Method to describe the

relationship between the demographic profile and perception of Senior High School students,

teachers, and parents in teaching and learning towards Non-Face-to-Face Classes in

Mathematics. It sought information on how these factors affect the perception of students,

teachers and parents towards Mathematics Classes. Correlation was used in finding the

relationship of two variables, the demographic profile of students, teachers and parents were

correlated with their opinion or perception in Non-Face-to-Face classes in Mathematics.

Research Locale

This study will be conducted at the Brooke’s Point National Senior High School and

Municipality of Brooke’s Point, Palawan.

Population and Sampling Procedures

This study will use simple random sampling in determining the sample size where its

samples are grade 11 STEM students and teachers of Brooke’s Point National Senior High

School and parents who lived in the municipality of Brooke’s Point, as respondents.
Research Instruments

The researchers will use an open-ended question made for the demographic profiles of

student, teacher and parents through online. It includes factual questions that consist of the

respondent’s background. In getting the information of perception in teaching and learning,

rating question format to indicate the respondents’ level of satisfaction to Non-Face-to-Face

Classes in Mathematics.

Data Gathering Procedure

A letter of request to conduct the study was forwarded to the principal of Brooke’s Point

Senior High school and parents of students who are studying to the said school. Upon their

approvals, the questionnaires were administered to the respondents. The retrieval of the

questionnaires is to be done by the researcher and expected a 100% of return. The data gathered

from the answered questionnaires will check, classify, tabulate, analyze and interpret based on

the research design using Microsoft Excel.

Statistical Treatment

The statistical tools that the researcher utilized in organizing, interpreting and analyzing

data were frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation and correlation coefficient.

The frequency distribution will be used to present the data based on the responses of the

respondents in their demographic profile.

The mean and standard deviation will use to determine the average score of students,

teachers and parents in the given questionnaire.

The Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (r) will be used to determine the

relationship between the demographic profile of students, teachers and parents and perceptions

which affect the satisfaction in teaching and learning in Mathematics from Non-Face-to-Face

Classes.
