INTRODUCTION
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts WBJEE for
admissions to undergraduate courses in Engineering & Technology in universities,
government colleges and self-financed institutes in West Bengal. WBJEE exam is generally
held in the third week of May. For admission to any degree course in
Engineering/Technology, securing a rank in the WBJEE is mandatory. However, self-financed
institutions may also admit candidates on the basis of merit listed in the all India common
entrance test, viz. JEE Main.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria
WBJEE Eligibility Criteria brings complete details about academic qualifications, age
requirement and other criteria for appearing in the entrance exam for admissions to
undergraduate engineering programmes at engineering colleges of West Bengal. The
candidates, who are aspiring for WBJEE, must be aware about the WBJEE eligibility criteria.
1. Candidates should have qualified Physics and Mathematics along with any one of the
following-Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Computer Application as
compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination.
2. Candidates belonging to general category should have scored an aggregate of 45% in the
three compulsory subjects in 10+2th (or equivalent) examination. 40% in case of reserved
category.
4. The lower age list is 17 years old as of December. No upper age limit. However, if the
candidate is applying for Marine Engineering, then the candidates have to be maximum 25
years of age as of December.

WBJEE Application Form
Candidates seeking admission into engineering colleges through West Bengal Joint
Entrance Exam are required to first fill and submit the application form within the specified
dates. The application form of WBJEE released at the official website [Link]. Before
filling out the application form, students are advised to check the eligibility criteria as
prescribed by the authorities, Ineligible students are disqualified from the admission process
Step 2-Filling of Application Form - Next, the candidates have to fill their valid personal
and academic information as per the documents that they possess. Contact details also have to be
submitted.
Step 3-Uploading of Documents- Scanned photograph and signature as per the specifications also
have to be uploaded by the candidates.
Step 4- Payment of fee- The candidates will be redirected to payment portal where the required
application fee has to be paid through online mode i.e., net banking/credit card/debit card.

Exam Pattern of WBJEE
Exam pattern of WBJEE will help the aspirants in understanding the type of questions and
level of questions which will be asked in the entrance exam. Students can make them-
selves aware about the duration of the exam, types of questions, subjects, mode of exam
through the exam pattern of WBJEE. For applicants' reference, the Exam Pattern of WBJEE
is given below. In every subject, all questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ-type,
with four options against each of the questions) and the answer(s) to each of the questions
has to be marked on the OMR.

darkening the appropriate circle completely with a blue/black

WBJEE Admit Card
Registered candidates are able to download the admit card of WBJEE from the official
website. For downloading the Admit Card, candidates have to log in first and download their
hall ticket to appear for WBJEE. Once the admit card is downloaded, candidates must
ensure that all the details mentioned on it are correct. If there is any mistake in printed
information, candidates should immediately contact WBJEE Board.
The Hall Ticket/Admit Card of WBJEE consists of all essential details of a candidate like the
candidate's Name, signature and photograph. WBJEE Admit Card contains the exam related
Information like: Applicants must take the printout of WBJEE Admission Ticket and carry its
hard copy to the examination hall along with one photograph (identical to that in the WBJEE

WBJEE Exam Centres
The exam centre includes the list of districts where the entrance exam is conducted. While
filling out the application form, students have to select their preferred WBJEE exam centre.
Note that WBJEEB attempts to allocate the examination centre at the candidate's 1st choice.
However, it may not be possible in all cases. Discretion of the Board shall be final in this
regard. No request for change of allocated centre is entertained under any circumstances.
Also, any examination zone may be dropped in unavoidable circumstances.

WBJEE Answer Key
WBJEEB releases the official answer key of WBJEE after the conclusion of the exam. The
answer key contains the correct answers to all of the questions in the entrance examina- tion
Using the answer key, candidates will be able to check the correct responses and calculate
their probable secured marks. The authorities will also provide a chance for the can- didates
to raise objections against the provisional answer key for a limited period of time. Candidates
will have to submit their challenge along with Rs. 500 for each objection. After checking all of
the objections, the final answer key will be declared by the authorities.

WBJEE Result
To check the WBJEE result, the candidates have to login using their application number and
password. The total scores secured by the candidates will be present in the result along with
individual subject scores, ranks and more. The result has to be kept safe for future use.
● Candidates having less negative aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
are allotted a higher rank. If the tie exists, candidates who secured more positive marks in
Mathematics and Phys-ics are given a higher rank.
● Thereafter, candidates with more positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry are allotted a
higher rank. Then, candidates with more positive marks in Mathematics, only for 2 mark
questions are given a higher rank.
● If the tie still persists, candidates with more positive marks in Physics for only 2 mark
questions are given a higher rank.
● After this, candidates with more positive marks in Chemistry for only 2 mark questions are
given a higher rank.
● If the tie is still not resolved, candidates with less negative marks in Mathematics for only 2
mark questions are allotted a higher rank:
● Candidates with less negative marks in Physics for only 2 mark questions are given a higher
rank.
● Finally, if the tie still remains, the candidate older in age is allotted a higher tank.

WBJEE Counselling
To participate in WBJEE counselling, qualified candidates have to register themselves
online. After applying online for the WBJEE, candidates have to pay the fees for the
counselling online and after remitting the fee, candidates can proceed to fill their choices for
their branch and institute preference. Information about the counselling procedure, report-
ing centres and schedule of WBJEE counselling is provided by the WBJEE board.
Seat Allotment
The authorities will allot seats to the registered candidates based on merit, selected preferences and
availability of seats through online, centralised WBJEE counselling. Around three rounds of seat
allotment is conducted by the authorities. Candidates can also check their allotment status after
logging in using their credentials. To download the online seat allotment letter, the candidates have to
pay the seat acceptance fee through online (net banking/credit card/debit card) or offline mode
(e-challan of Allahabad Bank).
Document Verification
Candidates who will be allotted seats through WBJEE counselling have to report to their respective
reporting centres and get their documents verified. Students also have to pay the required fee. The
