Bottled water companies exploit the environment and pocket large profits, while depriving
water from the environment. This is seen as they rip off aquifers ( non-renewable sources ) of
freshwater and empty large water bodies. Meanwhile, a Pakistani community faces the
ramifications of dirty stream water and decreased water levels of approximately 400 feet;
Losing access to their main source of water, due to Nestle’s irresponsible acts. These
companies deplete natural resources with a $524 annual fee in the case of San Bernardino
National Forest. Estimates put Nestle’s water usage at 1 billion gallons anually. Such is
detrimental to the environments’ health as rivers dry up, losing water bodies and threatening
the lives of many.
