1 Overview
The Gen 2 – System is an machine room less system of the elevator control.
There are two controller cabinets;
the controller mounted in the hoistway contents the Operational control and Drive con-
trol. The Operational control is realized by the Traction Control Board (TCB) and the
Drive Control by the Motion Control Board (MCB) / Vector Control Board (VCB).
the E&I – panel mounted in the hoistway door panel at top landing contents the Service
Panel Board (SPB), the Brake Release Board (BRE), the ERO – Control and the Emer-
gency Power Unit.
A further Board, the Load Weighing Board (LWB) is mounted in the COP.
And for the Door control the Door Control Subsystem DCSS5 is used.

The mechanical works of hoistway, cabine, controller, machine and electrical installation
have to be finished in this way, that the first inspection run can performed.
The electrical connections between Controller, E&I – panel and machine and hoistway-
installation (Safety Chain: TES, OS, GTC and PES) have to be installed. Connect the
travelling cable with the TOCI-box via “Field Shunt” (Adapter Tool for connection of
travelling cable and TOCI-box during construction).
For construction mode it is possible to bridge door contacts with plug P4T in the E&I –
panel.
Connect the battery to plug P1 on the BRE board to ensure that the battery is charged for
start up of BRE board (Chapter 6).
Check the wiring and function of the safety switches TES, OS, GTC and PES with
voltmeter.
Check the function by measurement of voltage loss (110VAC) at plug 2H4 to HL1 by
opening of the safety switches.

Check the proper inputs with the help of the TCB-LED indications (car is in level and in
ERO mode):
Note:
If after switching on the main switch, the status of the LED indication differs from the status
listed in the table, check the circuits of the corresponding LEDs.

7 Encoder Adjustment
To align the encoder axis to the magnet axis of the synchronous motor the encoder adjust-
ment has to be performed before the first inspection run.
Normally the Encoder adjustment has to be performed with mounted belts, car, counter-
weight and empty car.
For Inspection mode it is possible to perform the adjustment without belts etc. In this case
you have to perform the encoder adjustment later again with mounted belts etc.
The encoder has to be connected to plug P10 on MCB. It is a separately input for this en-
coder type.
After connection of encoder you have to start the encoder adjustment.
Plug in the SVT to plug P16 on SPB.
The adjustment is performed automatically by start the SVT menu „Encoder Adjustment“
(<M> <4> <2>). Follow the instruction on the SVT display. Switch from ERO to Normal
mode and back with ERO switch in the E&I panel during adjustment.
If adjustment not possible, check the error logging (M – 2 – 1 – GOON).
In this case look at the special FCM for MCB/VCB.
Check the direction also from the Top of Car Inspection by pushing the TCI-botton UP and
DOWN.
Now the operation in INS/ERO mode should be possible.

The connectors for the Serial Link are not yet plugged.
It has to be taken into account that all Remote Stations (RS), Line Terminators (LT) and
TCB can be destroyed due to wrong connections in the Serial Link.
Check the power supply of the Remote Serial Link (RSL), DL1, DL2, RTN and 30VDC.
Switch off the main switch.
Ckeck the connections and addresses of all used Remote stations.
Check the correct connections of the RSL: the Car Link (CDL) and the Hall Link (HDL).
Switch on ERO and the main switch.
Check with the SVT by using the menu “Self test” (M – 1 – 2 - 5) all RS connections.
If the self test displayed a “+”, the RS functions and setups are correct.
0 DOL = 17.1
605 DOS = 17.4
607 LRD = 17.3
Before the adjustment can be performed, enter the SVT sequence “Shift – 7” to enter the
the Adjust menu.
Use the SVT Key sequence (M – 3 – 3 – 1 - 1) to perform the Configuration / Installation
Routine.
Attention!
The Encoder adjustment has to be performed again if the first adjustment was per-
formed without load (car, belts etc.)......(see chapter 7)
Check the 1LS / 2LS distance before starting the learn run!
Attention!
The cabine must be empty during Learn run !
To avoid trouble switch off the door drive (DDO) and cut off the entering of hall calls
(CHCS) on SPB.
Start the Learn run from the bottom floor.
The Learn run is started with MCB Menu “Learn” (M – 4 - 1).
If the learn run was aborted with an error you will find the reason in the Error Logging of
MCB (M – 2 – 2 - 1).
The load measurement by the LWB can be watched in the MCB Service Tool menu:
(M – 2 - A(Shift 4)).
Check that the signals ANS, LNS and LWO are correct transmitted if the corresponding
load is loaded in the car.
10.6.4 Check of Sensors
The current voltage in mV (the range is 2.000 – 10.000 mV with empty car) of every load
sensor
can be checked with
M - 2 - A (shift 4) - Go on - Go on - Go on - Go on - Go on - Go on ...
(sensor 1) (sensor 2) (sensor 3) (sensor 4) (load) (sensor 1)
The check should be carry out in the top landing by putting load into the car.
The next step is to search a „reference floor“ in the middle of the hoistway.
13 Event logging
Conditions in the event logging does not generate automatically a shut down of the unit.
For OVFWW the explanation of the events are described in the chapter ”Service Tool User
Guide”. The “actual” and “saved” event logging report can be reset in menu “Saved”
(<M> <2> <2> <2> <Shift 5>).
If requested you can find the saved events in the menu ”Saved” (<M> <2> <2> <2>).
At following test runs no failure should be registered in the event logging.
For TCB the explanation of the events are described in the FCM TCB, chapter ”Service
Tool User Guide, Service Tool Reference List”.
