ƒ The Online Mode

Power Automation
Progress. It‘s that simple. Edit => Monitor Nodes ( adjust the scanning cycle for the polling of all
devices)

The recommended polling cycle (10 s ) depends on the no. of devices. The
shorter the polling time the higher the network data flow, i.e. if you have
200 devices you should set the polling time to 60-120 seconds.
The default timeout shouldn‘t be changed

GOOSE parameters
Power Automation
Progress. It‘s that simple.
1. destination address of the GOOSE-message, this is always a virtual
multicast MAC-address, this message will be send to all attached network
devices
2. MAC-address of the sending device
3. addressing of the GOOSE Control Block (path), contains information
about the GOOSE-message (e.g. MAC, VLAN, GOOSE-ID, priority, dataset,
etc.)
[Link]-ID of the ethernetframe (hexadecimal value)
5. maximum delay of the GOOSE-message, repetition time of cyclic
GOOSE-messages
6. addressing of the dataset (path), contains the indications which have to be
transmitted (z.B. status value stVal, quality information q, etc.)
7. revision number of the configuration
8. quality information of 9.
9. status information (in this case a boolean value)
10. GOOSE-ID (string)
11. VLAN-ID
12. priority
13. 1st repetition time of a spontaneous GOOSE-message after a state-
change 11/2007 18

FEC-Statistics
Power Automation
Progress. It‘s that simple.
„ RSTP-Role Chan1/2 = Alternate/Root
If theSIPROTEC 4 devices are arranged in a ring, and the ring is closed
and connected to the external switches which are also on, one device on
the FEC side must always display the above text. If none of the devices in
the ring does, the ring is physically broken.
„ FilterSymErrCntChan1/2 = 0/2753
If these two counters are incremented during stable operation of the
device, and with neither of the two adjacent devices turned off, there is a
poor FO connection. This can be due to an excessive attenuation by the
coupling devices, or to a defective cable.
„ FNS queue overflow = 0
„ If this display is not equal zero, this suggests that there are circulating
broadcast telegrams.
„ Frames Loss = 0
A value that is not zero indicates circulating multicast telegrams.
