Exercise 2.1 – Create Admins and Users
Instructions
Using your individual SAP SuccessFactors Learning instance (provided by your instructor),
create an admin and two users.
Step 1
Create your own admin account:
1. Login to the SAP SuccessFactors Learning Admin side with the URL and Admin
account credentials provided by your instructor
2. Navigate to System Admin > Admin Management
3. Click Add New
4. Admin ID is First Initial, Last Name, no spaces, all upper case e.g.,
JSACKS, LWONG
5. Enter your First Name, Last Name, Email, and password (Use “welcome”
initially. You will have to change your password on initial login. At that point,
change your password from “welcome” to “hello”)
6. Enter the Domain: ACME-CORP
7. Click Add
8. Select the Assigned Roles tab
9. Enter ALL (all caps) into Role ID
10. Click Apply Changes
11. Sign out and then login with your admin account (remember both Admin ID
and password are case sensitive)
12. Click on the gear icon to set your preferences for Locale (English), Currency, and
Timezone, and apply changes.
Step 2
Create yourself as a user in the LMS, with the following information:
User ID is First Initial, Last Name, no spaces, all upper case e.g., CWINTERS
Domain: ACME-CORP
Organization: FINANCE
Role: LEARNING_USER
Job Code: Any with SALES in the description
Supervisor: magibbs1 (Marla Gibbs)
Populate all other basic fields like address, phone, and email
Step 3
Create a second user who reports to you. This user is fictional, but will have you as the
supervisor.

Use a new user ID for your second user. Populate the other fields as in Step 2.
Step 4
After your two user accounts have been created, schedule the Assignment Profile
Synchronization APM in order to give the users access to the Global catalog:
1. Navigate to System Admin > Automatic Processes > Assignment
Profile Synchronization
2. Check the Schedule This Process checkbox
3. Select Daily and enter a time of day that is ten minutes from now
4. Select the appropriate Time Zone
5. Click the Apply Changes button
Step 5
Associate your admin account with your user account.
1. Navigate to System Admin > Admin Management
2. Search for your Admin account that you created in step 1
3. Select the edit icon
4. Select your User record under Related User (this will relate your user and admin
accounts, enabling tabbed navigation)
5. Click Apply Changes
6. Sign out and login with your Admin account
7. You should now have the Home, My Employees, Organization, and Admin tabs
8. If it has been longer than 15 minutes (and the Automatic Process has
run successfully) you should be able to browse the catalog.
Note: Inform your instructor if there are no items in the catalog (which might indicate a
problem with the process).
Step 6
Run the Account Data report (as PDF) for your two newly created Users and email a copy
to your instructor(s).
Send your report(s) in one email with the subject Ex2.1: Create Admins and Users - ##
(Replace ## with your instance number) to your instructor(s).

Exercise 2.2 – Search and Report Users
Step 1
Execute the following independent searches and record the number of records found:
*NOTE: Do not forget to clear the previous search results before proceeding to the
next search.
Search Result Count
Locate all users in Canada.
Clear your search and locate all users with
a User ID starting with J.
Clear your search and find all users with
“Rob” anywhere in the last name.
Locate all users with a Job Code with a
description containing the word “Sales.”
Perform a search that will return all users
that reside in United States of America and
have a first name of Jenny. Save this
search.
Locate all items containing the term Safety
in the title.
Locate all items in the FOOD or
FOODWINE subject areas. Add Description
to the search results.
Locate all curricula with a type of Health and
Safety.
Step 2
Complete the list of reporting activities below.
1. Run the Account Data report (as a PDF) for all users in the FINANCE
organization and save the report.
2. Run the Learning History report (as a PDF) for the FINANCE organization
3. Send your report(s) in one email with the subject Ex2.2: Search and Report Users
- ## (Replace ## with your instance number) to your instructor(s).
4. Schedule the Learning History report to run every Monday morning at 04:00 AM
and to be emailed to yourself as a PDF.
