INTRODUCTION

In today’s scenario news spreads at very fast speed as digitalization is increasing

rapidly and if it is some negative or unfavourable news than it is impossible to stop.
Brands are more affected by these sensitive issues than any other issue as their
brand name is on stake. Change in external environment, government policy,
consumer preferences, media and cut throat competing by firms make it all too easy
to fall form top. And the losses are in the terms of reduction in revenue, loss of
clients or suppliers and loss of market shares.

Maggi is a product of a very know brand Nestlé and it is one of those product that
have remained the all-time favourite of customers and it is one of those product
which has been victim of negative news.

Maggi is an international brand of seasonings, instant soups, and noodles that

originated in Switzerland in late 19th century. The Maggi Company was acquired by
Nestlé in 1947.

In 2015 the biggest PR crisis hit the brand. It all started when FSSAI found unhealthy
levels of lead and MSG in samples of Maggi Noodles, while its packets for years had
carried stamps saying ‘NO ADDED MSG’ due to which many states decided to
randomly test samples and banning sales in the market as a result retailer removed
Maggi from their shelf.

Dr. Mustiary Begum (2016): This study tells about the issue related to the ban on Maggi
and how customer changes their view about Maggi after its post ban. The researcher has

SUGGESTIONS

 Their “2 minutes noodles” slogan is very deceptive. Either their marketing

head wants you to eat kaccha Maagi or they must be stoned.

 They should just keep it healthy because there are many children who
consume Maggi on daily basis. Maggi makers should respect this and try to
make it healthier.

 Maggi is and will always remain best.

 There is nothing wrong in satisfying your taste but once in a while.

Conclusion

“What Xerox is to photocopier and Colgate to toothbrush, Maggi is to noodles

in India” –The Economics Times

Maggi is more preferred by the respondents as compared to the other instant

noodles.

From this data we can conclude that respondent like to eat Maggi at every age.
There are some people out there who not eat any other instant noodle if Maggi is not
available no matter what.
We can observe from this data that ban on Maggi reduced the sale of it but after its
relaunch it had the same or we can say large number of sales then before.
Nestle and the respondents both have believe that Maggi will achieve its position
back in the market.
