Topic DIFFERENT FESTIVAL DANCE IN THE Age Range 12 – 13 YEARS OLD
PHILIPPINE
I. ANALYZE
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:
This lesson is design for grade 10 high school students. This class is compromised of 18 male
students and 15 female students of different ages ranging from 12-13 years old, which their
academic styles and competency vary. The students cognitive level is from average to above
average but some students become easily distracted and lose focus quickly and most of the
students are active students rather than being passive students inside the class. They tend to
enjoy their caring when a bunch of activities is involved which will make them get out from
their chairs.
ENTRY CHARACTERISTICS:
The students in this class are skilled in the use of computers but their proficiency with this
technology is only limited to the use of social media and online games. On the other hand,
they are eager to learn and show interest in the topic.
LEARNING STYLE:
The majority of the students in the class are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners. So the
media pedagogy is applied are video presentation, music (for the dance activity) and power
point presentation.
II. STATE STANDARD AND OBJECTIVES
MELCs:
o Describes the nature and background of the dance. PE7RD-IVc-1
o Executes the skills involved in the dance. PE7RD-IVd-h-4
At the end of this discussion, student will be able to:
a. identify different Festivals in the Philippines
b. appreciate the importance of Philippine Festivals
c. perform a simple dance steps in a specific festival (Sinulog Festival).
III. SELECT STRATEGIES/METHODS, MEDIA AND MATERIALS
STRATEGIES:
The teacher use laptop to operate the slides on the television.
The teacher show a video presentation about the topic.
The teacher presents a video of a different types of festival dance for the learners
to follow the dance.
The teacher present the criteria of students dance presentation .
The students will answer questions and quiz to ensure they have achieved the
learning objectives .
MEDIA:
Speaker, audio clips, pictures, video clip, music
MATERIALS:
Power point slides with lesson notes, television, laptop.
IV. UTILIZE TECHNOLOGY, MEDIA AND MATERIALS
CLASSROOM PREPARATION:
The students sit according to the classroom arrangement, facing the board and
the television.
The teachers set up the television and the ppt slides.
As the activity will begin after discussion, the teachers will request the students to
carry the chairs at the side of the room.
LEARNER’S PREPARATION:
The students must engaged stretching and warm up. They also must wear a
proper P.E attire.

EVALUATION OF METHODS AND MEDIA
The students are actively engaged in the dance video.
