I am a proactive problem-solver and a passionate technologist with a proven track record in data analytics and
leadership. My role in creating a credit risk assessment model integrating artificial intelligence, exemplifies my ability
to apply machine learning in practical, impactful ways.
As a former national tennis champion, I apply strategic thinking to every challenge, a skill that was crucial when I
represented my university at a national robotics competition, where analytical skills met mechanical ingenuity. Beyond
academics, I have dedicated time volunteering with my local high school, where I implemented various tennis plans, to
encourage disadvantaged children to be more active.
My multifaceted experiences reflect a commitment to excellence and a readiness to tackle new challenges with a
dynamic, analytical approach.

Please explain why you would like to intern at ICBC Standard Bank.
My interest in interning at ICBC Standard Bank stems from the bank’s reputation as a leading Global Markets
institution with a focus on Commodities, Foreign Exchange, Interest Rates, and Credit products, especially in Emerging
and Frontier markets. The bank’s commitment to offering diverse and inclusive learning opportunities in an
environment that values and respects everyone’s contributions is particularly appealing. ICBC Standard Bank provides
a platform for interns to be fully immersed in a banking culture, allowing them to contribute real value and demonstrate
their skills in meaningful work. The program’s emphasis on developing a broad understanding of financial markets and
operations would enable me to leverage and expand my analytical skills and understanding of complex financial
instruments. Interning at ICBC Standard Bank, I envision myself not only amplifying my current skills but also
acquiring new competencies that will serve as the cornerstone of a successful career in finance.

How would ICBC Standard Bank benefit from having you as an intern?
ICBC Standard Bank would gain a forward-thinking and resourceful intern who has a track record of initiating and
leading impactful projects. Notably, I spearheaded the development of a predictive analytics model at the University of
Warwick, identifying market trends in the commodities sector. This project, which employed advanced statistical
techniques and machine learning, demonstrating potential direct applications to ICBC’s focus on commodities and
foreign exchange.
Additionally, I developed an ESG investment tracking tool at the University of Warwick, highlighting my ability to
merge technology with sustainability. This is a critical area of interest for modern banking institutions looking to
enhance their social responsibility profile.
With a personal commitment to continuous learning and development, I have also independently researched and
published articles on the integration of AI in management, showcasing my expertise and proactive approach to industry-
relevant challenges.

Secondly, mentorship is essential. I look for an environment where seasoned professionals are accessible, offering
guidance and feedback that will refine my skills and professional acumen. The knowledge exchange with
experienced bankers would be invaluable for my career development.
Lastly, I aspire to make an impact. I want my work to contribute meaningfully to the team and the organisation’s
goals. Whether it’s through streamlining processes, contributing to a team project, or providing fresh insights, I
aim to leave a positive mark that exemplifies my value to the team.

Excel Skills – Advanced. Proficient in utilising complex functions, macros, and VBA code to streamline tasks, analyse
data, and build sophisticated financial models.
