CS:SO Installation Guide

This document provides instructions for installing a Counter-Strike: Source modification called CS:SO. It describes placing the "csso" folder in the Steam or game directory and overwriting existing files. For Steam, it also involves adding a launch option. For non-Steam, it may require adding a launch parameter to a launcher or changing a file. The mod will not work on older CS:S versions and restoring original files is needed to play vanilla CS:S. Server hosts must also use the "-insecure" launch option.

Steam version:

put the "csso" folder (not its contents!) into Steam\steamapps\sourcemods folder
and overwrite existing files (if any)
put the "bin" folder into your CSS installation folder overwriting existing files
restart steam, find CS:SO in your library, click on it->properties->set launch
options->add "-insecure"

Non-steam version:
put "csso" folder into CS:S root folder
IF YOU HAVE A LAUNCHER: open up your launcher settings and add "-game csso -
insecure" at the end of your launch parameters
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LAUNCHER: open up [Link] and change "-game cstrike" to "-game
csso -insecure"
put the "bin" folder into your CSS installation folder overwriting existing files

WARNING: this mod WON'T work on v34 or any other old CS:S version!!!

If you have this mod installed, vanilla CSS won't work!


To fix it, you need to restore original "bin" folder!
If you haven't made a backup of it, there's a folder "!backup" in this .rar file
with all original files!

IMPORTANT FOR SERVER HOSTERS: ALWAYS start your server with -insecure launch option
or nobody will be able to connect to your server!!!
