G. Science Concept: The endocrine system is a control system of ductless glands that secrete
hormones within specific organs1. Hormones act as "messengers," and are carried by the
bloodstream to different cells in the body, which interpret these messages and act on them.
The endocrine system is responsible for regulating a range of bodily functions through the
release of hormones. These hormones are secreted by the glands of the endocrine system and
travel through the bloodstream to various organs and tissues in the body.
