3.0 E-Learning Platform
At UoSM, we use Blackboard, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom as virtual learning platforms.
3.1 Blackboard is a platform that allows academics to add teaching and learning (T&L)
resources for students to access online. Typically, you will find T&L resources such
as PowerPoint, video, audio, recorded lectures, and other applications which are
created outside of Blackboard and added to the platform. You may find that you
are expected to submit assignments through Blackboard. Every module taught at
the University has an area on Blackboard. You can get started with Blackboard
following the guidelines presented in Appendix 3.
3.2 Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration platform that provides global,
remote, and dispersed teams with the ability to work together and share
information via a common space. You will be able to utilise features such as
document sharing, one-on-one chat, and team chat. A step-by-step guide to use
Microsoft Teams is provided in Appendix 4.
4.0 Personal Academic Tutor
All new students will be assigned a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) at the beginning of
your programme. The PAT is usually an academic staff closely related to your
programme.
You may refer to your PAT for advice and guidance concerning your course of study. They
also provide a reference on completion of your programme and offer help or direction
to resources for any personal issues you may encounter along the way.
5.0 Induction Programme

our community. Your induction will be on 14 and 15 March 2024. Interactive sessions
out communit
