Monster Hunter Rise guide for newcomer hunters

Raft can be somewhat complex for newcomer players. There are many elements to take into
account and, although the game has tutorials and we can access information at all times, as we
commented in the game analysis everything can still be somewhat confusing.

That's why we have prepared this simple Monster Hunter Rise guide for beginner hunters, with all
the elements you need to understand to enjoy the game to the fullest.

Monster Hunter Rise is a continuous loop: you finish monsters, take their parts, create new
equipment and go after stronger monsters. But within that simplicity lies a monstrous complexity.
Follow all these tips to get the most out of your hunts.

Step 1: Preparation
Within the base, it will be imperative that you choose a weapon from all the available ones. There is
an incredible variety, and we recommend that you try as many as you can until you find the one you
feel most comfortable with.

If you prefer to test outside the hunting missions, look for the training area and try it without limit.
Also, here you will learn the unique combos and moves of each type of weapon in Monster Hunter
RIse, a must.

Each weapon has different combinations and uses. Train with them to get the most out of them.

Then you will have to manage your inventory in one of the chests scattered around the village. What
will you need in the next mission? It is essential that you always carry a good assortment of potions
and megapotions, as well as necessary items such as antidotes, for example, if the monster you are
going to face can poison you.
You can also create sets that will help you to always equip the same combination of items when you
need them.

You should also equip the correct armor. Take a look at the Hunter's Notes in the menu to check the
main characteristics of the monster you want to hunt. If it is not the first time you face it, you will
have important information. Does it do status attacks? Maybe it's a good idea to craft and equip
armor to protect you against them.

Finally, it is imperative that you eat dangos before battles. You will find the canteens in the village
and you can select three different dangos, take a good look at all of them and use the ones that will
suit you best in battle. Remember that you can save some sets to use them whenever you want
without having to select them manually every time.

Step 2: The hunt

Once you enter the mission, the steps to follow in Monster Hunter Rise are very simple, but you
must assimilate them to repeat them every time. First of all: go to the blue chest that you will find in
the area near where you appeared. You will find very useful items and, in some cases, essential
items for that battle.

For example, if the monster you are about to face performs status attacks, you will usually have a
small number of items that will allow you to recover if it hits you. You will also find traps and sleep
balls in case you have to capture and not kill the monster. It is essential that you always open it.

Then get on Canyne's back to go faster and direct your steps to the position of the monster you have
to hunt. At the top right you will see the beasts that are scattered around the map: press the right
stick to set the target on the one you are interested in. If you have never seen the monster, it will
appear as a question mark, so approach the ones that are there until you find it.

It is very important that while you head towards the monster's position you collect as many
resources as possible and, above all, the colored flying insects that will give you health bonuses,
resistance, attack, defense... deviate from the path whenever you see them because they will come
in handy to fight.
Afterward, it will be your turn to battle. In this Monster Hunter Rise guide we can not help you much
in general because each monster is a world, but practice with weapons in the training area, face
simple monsters at first, and familiarize yourself with the fight. Gradually you will notice how you
will improve and feel more comfortable in battle. Experience is a degree.

Finally, pay attention to the specific objective of the mission, because hunting is not the same as
capturing the monster. If you have to hunt it you will have to kill it, no mystery: attack it until it dies;
but if you have to capture it you must leave it alive: attack it until the monster is in a dire state when
it can hardly walk. A simple way to know what is the perfect state to capture a monster is to pay
attention to the comments of your partner Felyne: it will indicate when the monster is about to die.
Set a trap on the ground, wait for the monster to fall into it and when it is trapped, throw the sleep
bombs you have equipped on its head. It will fall asleep and the mission will be completed
successfully.

Step 3: Build better weapons and armor

After the hunt, the preparation phase returns: when you have finished with the monster of a
mission, collect its parts. This is essential for later use in the village forges to build new weapons and
armor.

In Monster Hunter Rise it will be necessary that you scale your equipment as you climb in the
difficulty of monsters, or you will have many problems in the hunts. We recommend that you create
better weapons and apply some status damage because some monsters suffer much more with this
type of damage (again, check out the hunter's notes to check it). Little by little the idea is to
assemble a good and varied arsenal that you can change depending on the monster you face.
This, as we said in the first phase of preparation, is necessary when the monsters become stronger.
Not only will it be essential to have armor with a higher general defense to avoid physical damage,
but it will also be very useful to have specific protections for status damage that certain monsters
can produce. If any beast is too difficult for you or you are unable to kill it, it is time to rethink your
strategy and make new weapons and armor.

As a general rule, you will not have the necessary resources to build some weapons and armor, and
therein lies another important part of the game's fun: having to repeat hunts and go in search of
other specific parts of the monsters that allow you to build them. Set a target and go after them.
That fire-attacking monster that used to finish you off in one hit will have a harder time when you've
built a weapon with a status damage that especially affects it and a new armor that helps you with
its fire attacks.

Then you will have to add more add-ons like decorations, but go slowly: first, understand this
dynamic, and then all the other additions will be easily understood.

Don't forget to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the Miaurcenaries and the Argosy to
get extra items or exchange the ones you already have. You will find these options in the village, so
take a good look.

And be careful: your comrades can also improve themselves, equip themselves and modify their
skills. Don't neglect their management.

Step 4: Repeat
Monster Hunter Rise is a continuous loop of repetition and you will always have to follow these
steps to kill the monsters. Each time they will be more and more complicated so each time they will
require more and more thorough preparation. If you manage to understand and enter its dynamics
you will be lost: once you enter you will not be able to get out.
