Thank you for your interest in Aluprof’s products.
Welcome to the group of professionals using BIM models in Autodesk® Revit. All of our Revit
families are created on the basis of our company’s real products.
In this document we would like to present the possibilities of the BIM models of MB-86 Fold
Line folding doors.
1. Technical parameters of MB-86 FOLD LINE
AIR PERMEABILITY Class 3, EN 12207:2001
WATERTIGHTNESS Class 4A, EN 12208:2001
WIND LOAD RESISTANCE Class C1/B1, EN 12210:2001
External impact – Class 2
IMPACT RESISTANCE
Internal impact – Class 4
THERMAL INSULATION Uw from 0,85 W/(m2K) 1
CONTENT OF THE ALUMINUM RECYCLATE 69,2%
H = 2070 mm
MAXIMUM LEAF DIMENSIONS
L = 1000 mm
1 The Uw value has been calculated for the following assumptions:
- two-chamber glazing with Ug=0,5 W/(m2*K)
- a warm edger space bar, Swisspacer Ultimate type
- door dimensions: L x H = 2070 x 3440 mm
For other calculation variants please contact the Aluprof’s Technical Support Department.
2. MB-86 FOLD LINE – the folding door.
There are eighteen MB-86 Fold Line Revit families available for download (9 inward
opening models and 9 outward opening models), created according to the
configuration of panels:
2 panels (2-2-0)
3 panels (3-3-0)
3 panels with door (3-2-1)
4 panels (4-4-0)
4 panels with door (4-3-1)
5 panels (5-5-0)
5 panels with door (5-4-1)
6 panels (6-6-0)
6 panels with door (6-5-1)
2.1. Revit families in a project.
The BIM models of Aluprof products are fully parametric – you can change height
and width of the entire construction. In addition, each family has a parameter
called Opening amount that enables users to “open” the folding door. This
parameter is given in percentage, where 0% means that the door is closed and
100% that the door is fully open. In models with an opening leaf, you can find also
a parameter called Door opening angle, thanks to which the user can open the
door leaf.
There is also a parameter called Exterior wall face offset which controls the value of
the structure offset from the outer wall surface (40mm by default) and a Mounting
space parameter, which determines the depth of the mounting space (15mm by
default).
2.2. Clearance Zone.
The Clearance Zone is visible by default. To turn it off in a global scale, go to
Visibility/Graphics Overrides (VG keybord shortcut) the Door section uncheck
the Clearance Zone. You can turn the clearance zone off only for selected models
by unchecking an instance parameter Show Clearance Zone.
2.3. Instance parameters.
In the door families there are also parameters that control the visibility of individual
elements:
Double-sided handle - displays the handle on the inside or on both sides
(only for models without the active leaf)
Show opening symbol - controls the visibility of the symbolic lines in the plan
view and on the door leaf in the 3D view and on the elevation
3. Additional parameters.
The MB-86 Fold Line door Revit families have a number of additional parameters
that can be included in schedules:
Warm installation
Hardware
Handle type
Schedule No.
Access control
Door closer
Door sill type
These parameters have been left blank to be filled by the user.
In addition to the parameters directly related to the model properties, our Revit
families include information about the COBie, IFC and Uniclass 2015 standards.
We hope this short tutorial will help you use our BIM models more effectively in your projects.
