Dynamic Positioning is a system that uses thrusters, sensors, and computers to automatically maintain a vessel's position and heading. It has 7 key elements: DPO, gyrocompass, MMI/HMI, wind sensors, computer, PMS/UPS, and thrusters. software version, called

Position System).

allowed to anchor in
coral areas.
 They stay in position
on DP while
passengers are
transferred for shore
visits.
