Vikram's approach reflects modern management practices by prioritizing open communication, empathy, and employee development. He listens actively to Sugandha's concerns, validates her feelings, and offers support through practical solutions like the Mentoring Program. Vikram's emphasis on personal growth and his willingness to discuss compensation adjustments showcase a progressive attitude toward fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture .

Vikram employs questioning to provoke self-reflection and challenge Sugandha's assumptions. By asking if she has discussed the salary issue with her husband, Vikram prompts Sugandha to realize her judgments are unfounded. He further encourages her to do a self-assessment regarding her capability to handle leadership, which opens her to reconsider her potential. This technique effectively shifts Sugandha's focus from self-doubt to exploring possibilities .

Cultural and societal expectations play a significant role in Sugandha's reluctance to embrace the new role. Her concerns about managing household responsibilities alongside a more demanding job and the potential discomfort of earning more than her husband reveal underlying societal norms regarding gender roles and marital dynamics. These expectations contribute to her self-doubt and fear of upsetting the traditional balance, which Vikram addresses by encouraging her to prioritize her career growth and discuss the concerns openly with her husband .

Sugandha assumes that her husband would feel uncomfortable with her earning more, which she believes is a common response in such scenarios. Vikram challenges this assumption by questioning its validity since Sugandha has never discussed her career aspirations or salary potential with her husband. He encourages open communication instead of letting assumptions dictate her decisions, implying that her husband might actually be supportive .

Discussing her career decision with her husband could lead to several outcomes for Sugandha. Firstly, it opens a channel for honest communication, which may result in emotional support and shared decision-making. If her husband's reaction is positive, it would bolster Sugandha's confidence and potentially strengthen their relationship by dispelling preconceived notions of financial hierarchy. Conversely, an unsupportive response could necessitate renegotiation of household dynamics or prioritization of personal goals over traditional roles. Either way, the discussion prompted by Vikram encourages transparency, which is crucial for informed and harmonious decision-making .

Vikram reassures Sugandha by highlighting the opportunity for personal and professional growth through leadership. He suggests mistakes are part of learning and proposes enrolling her in a Mentoring Program to gain support and guidance from experienced leaders in the company. This approach is designed to build her confidence and reduce self-limiting thoughts .

Vikram's suggestion to speak to HR about a salary review implies recognition of Sugandha's value and potential impact in the new role. It addresses financial apprehensions and serves as an incentive for her to consider the promotion seriously. This proposal not only alleviates some of her concerns about workload fairness but also aligns her remuneration with the increased responsibilities, potentially empowering her by aligning professional title and compensation .

Vikram exhibits a supportive and empowering leadership style. He listens to Sugandha's concerns, provides rational advice, and suggests practical solutions such as the Mentoring Program. By addressing both her emotional and professional inhibitions, Vikram demonstrates empathy and encouragement, which significantly impacts Sugandha's decision to reconsider the role. His assurance of support and focus on self-improvement help shift her perspective towards embracing the opportunity .

Sugandha hesitates to accept the new role due to a belief that she lacks the capability to handle leadership responsibilities and manage work and home simultaneously. Additionally, she is concerned about earning more than her husband, fearing it might create discomfort in their relationship. Vikram encourages her to reconsider by ensuring support and advising her to discuss her apprehensions with her husband rather than assuming his reaction .

Vikram addresses Sugandha's fear of mistakes by normalizing them as part of the learning process. He suggests that leadership is about growing through experiences rather than expecting perfection. To support her transition, he recommends joining the company's Mentoring Program, which would provide guidance and resources to navigate challenges effectively .
