JOB PURPOSE: TO LEAD THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF UNOC’S CORPO-
RATE STRATEGY AND BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVES, AND INNOVATIONS FOR THE
SUSTAINABLE GROWTH OF UNOC AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES

Essential Duties
1. Lead the development of UNOC’s Corporate and Subsidiary Strategy.
2. Coordinate the alignment and cascading of the Corporate Strategy to all Business functions
and Subsidiaries.
3. Conduct regular strategy reviews with Corporate and Subsidiary leads.
4. Work directly with Executive and Senior Management to execute the Corporate Strategy in-
cluding developing objectives and actions plans.
5. Facilitate cross-functional strategy sessions, workshops, and engagements.
6. Manage Corporate Performance reporting activities to track and communicate progress deliv-
ering the Corporate Strategy with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Design, develop, and maintain strategic planning artefacts, templates and tools to support co-
hesive planning approaches across the organisation.
8. Manage all Corporate Strategy and change related activities are delivered in line with UNOC’s
strategic frameworks, systems, processes, architecture, and reporting.
9. Lead the design and development of transformation and innovation initiatives in line with the
company’s Corporate Strategic direction.
10. Lead and facilitate a holistic and integrated approach to innovative and continuous improve-
ment through the design and implementation of innovative tools and approaches.
11. Support Corporate and business reporting, including for the annual report and quarterly update
reporting.
12. To identify critical business areas and drive initiatives to increase efficiency and strengthen busi-
ness processes.
13. Prepare executive briefs for the CEO and Board on Company Strategy and Corporate Perfor-
mance.
14. Supervise, appraise, develop, and mentor staff under your line management.
15. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications & Experience


a) A Master’s degree in Economics, Economic Policy Management, Statistics, Business Administra-
tion, Strategic Planning or other related master’s degree.
b) Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Engineering, IT, or any
other related fields.
c) Specialised training in Strategy, Sustainability, M&E, and Innovation is an added advantage.
d) A minimum of 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years’ experience in leading Strategy
development, management, and Corporate Performance at a Senior level.
e) Demonstrated experience in leading Strategy and managing Corporate Performance in a large
organisation.
f) Demonstrated ability to manage, track and report on program and organizational performance
data in a fast-paced environment.
g) Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
environment.

Essential Duties
a) Support the annual procurement plan development process within allocated UNOC business

d) Lead the implementation of procurement policies and system strategies to support tendering,

Qualifications & Experience


a) Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Procurement, Logistics Management, Business Administration (Pro-
curement) or any other business related discipline with a specialization in Procurement.
b) Possession of Procurement professional qualification (CIPS).
c) At least 6 years relevant working experience, 3 of which attained at a senoiur/ supervisory level.

THE UGANDA NATIONAL OIL COMPANY LIMITED (UNOC) IS RECRUITING


The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Limited was established under the Petroleum
(Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion,
Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the Companies’
Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda.

The overall function of UNOC is to handle the State’s commercial interests in the Oil and Gas
industry and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.

UNOC now invites applications from persons interested to develop their career with a dynamic
and results-oriented Company to occupy the following positions:

UPSTREAM DEPARTMENT
JOB TITLE: DRILLING & COMPLETIONS ENGINEER (1 VACANCY)
REPORTS TO: DRILLING & COMPLETIONS - SPECIALIST
JOB PURPOSE: RESPONSIBLE FOR PLANNING, DESIGNING, AND OVERSEEING DRILLING AND
COMPLETIONS OPERATIONS WITHIN THE DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION FUNCTION.

Essential Duties
1. Participate in the planning and design of drilling and completions operations, ensuring alignment
with reservoir objectives and operational requirements.
2. Perform technical analyses and evaluations to optimize drilling and completions plans, consider-
ing wellbore integrity, safety, and efficiency.
3. Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and wellsite personnel to ensure timely and effective
execution of drilling and completions activities.
4. Apply drilling and completions technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficien-
cy and well performance.
5. Identify potential drilling and completions risks and contribute to the development of risk mitiga-
tion strategies.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of drilling and completions designs, procedures, and opera-
tional reports.
7. Provide technical support during drilling and completions activities, addressing technical chal-
lenges and deviations from the plan.
8. Provide supervision, mentorship, and technical guidance to graduate Drilling & Completions En-
gineers, fostering their professional growth.
9. Collaborate with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, production engineers, and wellsite personnel
to optimize well designs and execution.
10. Promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility within the drilling and com-
pletions team.
11. Provide regular updates and reports to the Engineering Manager - Development & Production
on drilling and completions activities, progress, and recommendations.
12. Evaluate partners’ drilling and completions proposals and participate in meetings with Partners
and Authorities.
13. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications & Experience


a) BSc (Hons) in Drilling, Petroleum, Structural, Mechanical, or Manufacturing/Production Engi-
neering or related engineering field.
b) Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience in drilling and completions engineering within the
oil and gas industry.
c) Must demonstrate proficiency in drilling engineering software tools and well design techniques.
d) Solid understanding of drilling and completions best practices, technologies, and equipment.
e) Ability to work independently, but also work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environ-
ment.

Skills & Competencies


a) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute to technical decision-making.
b) Effective communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
c) A motivated, self-starter who works well under minimal supervision.
d) Well versed in all aspects of completion and workover operations.
