Like other orientations, most of the contents are about our school guidelines, mission, vision, and

objectives are introduced to us. The IP or profoundly known as Intellectual Property in education was
also highlighted. Miss clearly explained how in her class, she doesn’t want any act of plagiarism from
one of her students. From copyright infringement to academic plagiarism and as well as possible legal
consequences given to those illicit students are tackled. As a student under the Bachelor of Early
Childhood Education (BECED), the expected proper and professional acts of an early childhood educator
were addressed to us. How we were reminded of the professional standards expected including
sensitivity, effective communication, empathy, observation skills, patience, and other more skills.

Specifically, the orientation delved into critical topics such as health, nutrition, safety, and classroom
management, grounding us in fundamental aspects of early childhood education (ECE2), we’ve been
circulating around it. Miss grading system and classroom rules are also introduced along the discussion,
providing a framework for our academic journey with her. Our orientation went well just like what I have
expected on hand. Accompanied by a prayer from Miss and the presence of our new classmates, it was
new but at the same it felt like we’ve stepped forward on our journey in early childhood education. The
qualities reminded to us by Miss were already taught along on ECE 1 during first semester. Somehow,
hearing from her personal experiences as an active early childhood educator felt more comfortable than
reading these qualities on texts. I’ve observed how hands on she was too. Despite varied paths to this
course and even others not knowing that early childhood education (ECE) is already offered. In college, it
all gravitated to us having a responsibility. A responsibility to give our learners the proper approach they
need. Miss shared how important for us to qualify and graduate with quality to offer in the future. How
we should be competitive and acquire the knowledge and skills of an aspiring early childhood educator.
Because we are the foundation upon which children’s educational journeys are built, it is a must to
become a role model to them.

The orientation left me enlightened and inspired from receiving wisdom on different aspects that we’ve
talked about, from the reminders of school objectives to the qualities of an effective educator. It always
amuses me to hear things about teaching from someone who is active on these field. Again, Miss
sharing how important to have such qualities reminded me to continue to grow and acquire it on a
deeper level. What I mean is that, someone who’s physically learning is still ahead with others who are
only learning on books. It made me more hopeful to see myself being able to survive, as being a
professional early childhood teacher will be somehow fulfilling and hard at the same time.

At the moment, as a student it is important to always live and acquire the vision and mission expected to
us. As well as being a well-mannered student, to be reminded to not depend too much on Artificial
intelligence (AI) is not new as it is prominent for most students today to use it without boundaries
already. I will continue to hear and learn the wishes of my instructors, for such actions will only degrade
me at the end. To learn more from Miss who’s a prominent early childhood educator is a blessing. By
acting qualities expected to me as a student is something I’m focusing more along the way.
