 PREFACE
Welcome to the Level 1 English Language Module.
This module is aimed at assisting teachers to differentiate their English
language instructions for pupils of various proficiency levels. It contains
supplementary exercises based on topics found in the Year 1 & 2 Super
Minds and Year 3 Get Smart Plus 3 textbooks.
Dear teachers, you know your pupils best. This module has been designed
with the thought that teachers make the best decisions in terms of material
selection for their classrooms. Thus, there is a variety of remedial and
enrichment activities for you to choose from.
This module is divided into 5 parts: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing
and Language Arts. Transcripts for listening activities have been given in
order to ease the process for teachers who may not have the facilities to
play audio recordings in class. At the same time, QR codes with links are
also given for supporting material.

Materials needed:
1. A dice
2. Stationery
3. English exercise book
4. Tokens (coins or paper clips)

Instructions:
1. This board game consist of two to four players.
2. Each player places their tokens at ‘Start’.
3. Player 1 begins the game by rolling the dice.
4. If player 1 lands on box 4, the player needs to write a short sentence in his/her
exercise book and must include the sight word from box 4.
For example: I go to school by bus.
5. Teacher checks the sentence. If there is more than one error in the sentence, the
player must go back to his/her previous box. In this case, player 1 needs to go back
to ‘Start’.
6. If there is only one or no error in the sentence, player 1 can stay in box 4.
7. The player who reaches ‘Finish’ first wins the game.
