HOW YOUR COMPANY’S ESG DATA CAN BE USED

Publicly traded companies are being increasingly inundated with requests to publish environmental, social,
and governance (ESG) data. The most influential requests are coming from organizations that directly partici-
pate in financial markets. These can include large asset owners (e.g., CalPERS, NY State), asset managers (e.g.,
BlackRock, State Street) and specialized ESG research firms (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics). Institutional customer
demand for ESG information is rippling through entire supply chains, thereby affecting both suppliers that are
publicly traded and privately held. These converging developments create the need for companies to fully un-
derstand and strategically manage the disclosure of a new set of performance metrics.

ARE YOUR SYSTEMS SECURE?

Did you know that the U.S. Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Agency (CISA) offers free resources to help you
and your colleagues establish a safe work from home environment? While these tools are always valuable
for organizations throughout the supply chain, they’re particularly useful in our current climate of
increased cyber risk as many professionals continue to work remotely.

Along with resources from organizations like CISA, AIAG is also doing our part to help you protect your
systems. Through our partnership with NQC, a global leader in cyberthreat detection, we’re now offering a
free Quick Scan – no login required, and no strings attached – on one of your internet facing services for
immediate insight into your cyber vulnerabilities.

Like what you see? You also get access to one free comprehensive scan! This scan provides a detailed
report outlining weaknesses that cyber criminals can exploit, along with a corrective action plan to secure
your organization from cyberattacks. Use the code AIAGw when prompted to get the report.

sees the value of LPAs and participates appropriately, the organization can achieve a culture of accountability,
process control and continuous improvement. What’s the payoff? A reduction of scrap, rework, customer com-

PFMEA IN CONTEXT (FMEA 4TH EDITION)

The development and usage of the quality core tools including process flow diagrams, process FMEAs and
controls are nothing new to the automotive supply base. Unfortunately, in many cases, these documents are
not used to their full potential, reducing the benefit for suppliers and their customers. Recently, OEM customers
and 3rd part certification bodies have seen a decline in the quality of process flow diagrams, process FMEAs
and control plans, leading to a decline in delivery performance, lower product quality and increased findings
during 3rd party audits. As an advanced next step in process improvement, this 2-day workshop was designed
to reemphasize the benefits, importance and proper development of these documents for the benefit of suppli-

They all want to help the industry’s COVID-19 operational recovery by providing
ALL suppliers (and their employees) FREE access to proven industry best practices,

But with full recovery comes new challenges. Staff working remotely, retirements, new staff
onboarding, and quarantine staffing disruptions are our “new normal.”

IN 2021, TURN YOUR CHALLENGES INTO YOUR STRENGTHS.

AIAG and its Board of Director companies continue our support of the industry in these
unprecedented times, so we’re extending free access to many of our mission critical supply

HTS HARMONIZED TARIFF SCHEDULE OVERVIEW

Ensure that you are compliant with customs regulations and paying the proper rate of duty on your imported
products. Proper tariff classification is the basic foundation for all customs transactions, including qualification
for the U.S., Mexico, Canada Free Trade Agreement (USMCA). Correct classification of your products is essential
for determining the appropriate duties and remaining fully in compliance with all Customs and Border Protec-
tion (CBP) Regulations). The Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) provides duty rates for virtually every item that
exists, and is harmonized to at least the 6-digit level almost across the globe.

USMCA CONTENT REPORTING

Effective July 1, 2020, the USMCA trade agreement officially replaced NAFTA as the trilateral free trade agree-
ment between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Whether the manufacturer of importer is located in the U.S. (USM-
CA), Canada (CUSMA), or Mexico (T-MEC), the automotive industry as a whole has been significantly affected
by dramatic rule changes, including an increase in overall value content requirements, the introduction of the
Labor Value Content (LVC) requirements, and new categories and requirements for the qualification of automo-
tive parts.

The new USMCA Content Reporting course - developed by OEM, supplier, and free trade agreement experts -
is an in-depth, comprehensive training geared toward automotive trade compliance practitioners and working
managers. The training is scheduled for two consecutive days (16 hours total) and will be offered in a highly
interactive virtual setting for 2021.
